Hello ForumGardeners,
I am writing a play but am not too good at writing music to go along with the play. I was wondering if I could get some tips on how to write good music. Or better yet, you could actually help me write the music.
PLOT OUTLINE:
It's based on the board game: CLUE!. I call it "CLUE: The Mystery Brought To Life" It has all of the characters and everything. I think it could be a hit.
If anyone would be interested or would like more information, feel free to either PM me or reply to this thread. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Before it goes any farther than a writing exercise, be sure you know who owns the play/musical/etc. rights to Clue. Someone made a movie based on the game, so at least some rights have been sold.
Are you looking to write a musical play or a musical? That will help determine the number of songs you need as well as help define the role of the lyrics.
What sort of tips are you looking for in writing good music? Can you give me some concrete examples? There's the obvious advice about studying the music of musical plays and musicals that you consider to have good music.
I can write lyrics and melodies but I can't arrange music to save my neck. So I'm certainly not the person to help you write your music. But if you need opinions or want to discuss music theory I'd be happy to do what I can.
Best of luck on your project. Let us know how it's going.
