Any gearheads out there ? Carla ?

Windshield wiper motor for a VW Jetta. Its acting crappy. Can a retard (me)replace it ?

No.

The last time I tried fixing something I was out till 2am in the rain w/ a flashlight in my mouth....springs and doohickeys flying to and fro

I was almost in tears

I had it towed in the morning

:wah: Well then you better get on the road in the morning and have that motor replaced, when it stops so do the blades. Come on you can do it, it is just a motor with a few wired connected to it.

You poor thing :-3 I would say start with the easy things first check the fuse make sure its good, before you go replacing the motor. Do you know where the fuse box is on the car..;)

We hit pay dirt then, you can check the fuses first it may be all you have to do. Also do you have the owners manual for the car it will tell you where all the motors are hopefully. Or you can search online for them. If it isn't the fuse probably a mechanic can order the motor and install it for you. ;)

Now your talking, nothing like a good mechanical adventure..:driving: Just think how good you will fell once your done. :D I suggest a little research on where it is exactly on the car, you never know it may be something only a mechanic can do. I don't know much about VW's other than the really old bugs. My sister had one and it was a pain in the butt to work on.:wah:

Ive located the bastard. I cant find the screws to get that thingy out though. My car wants death for me but hey ! Whos in charge here anyway ?

Which bastard the fuse box, or the motor. Now remember all the screws are metric on a VW .. You can do it I have faith in you..:driving:
