Hi there

Went to see Silent Hill at the pictures. It was okay but nothing to write home about. Also saw Omen 666. It was an ok remake but the original is much, much better. Final Destination 3 is my favourite with just the right amount of gore to keep fans satisfied. Saw a copy of Hostel. What a load of cr*p!

Horror comes in all shapes & sizes from zombie to psychological. I think the best horrors are the ones where you think you see something but don't, rather than out and out blood & gore because you know what's coming. Horrors based on true life stories are always frightening because you can't imagine anything like it happening for real!

The original Dracula and Frankenstein were considered horrific and the Exorcist was thought to be so bad that people were vomiting. However, I think this generation of film goers is so used to violence in video games that anything on a movie screen is nothing to them. They have become so numb to horror that they are not repelled by it. Such a shame!

Well said. Hence, film makers constantly pushing the boundaries with gore and vile behaviour. "Saw" I thought was a putrid film - a prime example of a producer "creating" (I use the term loosely) a game-like situation.

It's a matter of taste, I guess ; I prefer psychological horror films rather than out and out gore. I'd rather watch The Turn of the Screw (ghost story but creeps me out!) than something more overt.

I also really like the original The Wicker Man ; it's horrific to see the Christian policeman put into a wicker frame and slowly roasted to death as everyone around sings.....

Hi people

I must just give a mention for a British horror film - Dog Soldiers. This has got everything in it - comedy, horror with just the right amount of gore & werewolves. Sean Pertwee is brilliant and the rest of the cast are good! Give it a go. By the way saw Wolf Creek the other week. Couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. However what I did find worrying was that the guy who was doing all the murdering is still alive & well & living in Australia. So don't go backpacking out there!

Seven creeped me out pretty good. the idea that it could be real and really happen was so gross to think about. what happened to the cop and his wife was sooooo terrible. i thought about it for weeks and weeks.

i chalk it up there with the book " the lovely bones" i will never forget either one. .........Susie Salmon will be forever stuck in my head.
