If I'm still misunderstanding, then I apologize....but that's my story and I'm sticking with it :p :wah:
Sweetie
you are still misunderstanding me and I don't know how to say it. I'll try. We want to be as much like Jesus as we can. Jesus is all good things. I read about Jesus and He was slapped and He turned the other cheek to be slapped also. You know what I mean, he did all good things that we try to do. Sex is wonderful and whether or not Jesus did it, we're going to do it. God created us to do it to keep the race going. Jesus, God came as Jesus, to die on that cross and to show us how to live. His purpose was not to create little Gods to leave behind. His purpose was not to carry on the race. His purpose was to save the race, His people. I do not know how to make it more clear. He did not come to get messed up in sex stuff like we do. Like how crazy is it for me and a lot of others to have no sex and some people are out paying to get it, using toys, group sex blah, blah, blah blah. And I don't want you to think Christ should be messed up with that stuff. I take that back. You should think whatever you like. I am just trying to explain where I am coming from.:-6 :-4

I re-read your post and come to the conclusion that you are simply saying that Jesus, being god, would have been just as divine in his decision to be celibate, as opposed to my misunderstanding as to why he would choose to do so(being with a woman, obviously)?

Trying again. I don't think it was necessarily a choice for Jesus. It simply was not His purpose to have sex. Sex is something that gets in a person's head and won't go away. But if it isn't in your head, then you don't even think about it. Something like a child doesn't think about it all the time. We were created to have sex so it's in our heads, it's a drive, we're driven to sex, well most of us.
I just figure Jesus didn't even think about it. His life would be complete without it. Most of us on the other hand don't feel complete without a partner, spouse.
Is okay if you don't understand because you're my sweetie anyway:-6 :-4

Thats just my point....
Sex in its purity is not sin, so I'm having trouble in understanding this logic, thats all.

Sex is not a sin, you are right. My point had nothing to do with sex being a sin. My point had to do with the fact that to procreate was not Jesus' purpose in being here, that' s all. His purpose was to die on the cross, to save us. Gracious, at age 12 He was teaching the wise people. He had a lot to do to get to the cross and maybe He married on the way there. I just choose not to think about that. Did you ever as a child barge in on your parents doing it? How did you feel? Or did your friends ever tell you about barging in on their parents doing it? How did they feel? I heard something like yuk! pyuk do you know what they were DOING spit, spit, spit. That's what kids think.

Damn it anyways! I'm going back to the arcade..:wah:
Lol @ Floppy! :wah:
Boy its hard crawling out of bed at 7am when you didn't get to sleep until 4am!
It's not good for my head!
Just as a btw - I thought Jesus was supposed to be like man which means he should have been tempted by the flesh. What about when he fought with the devil in the desert - didn't the devil tempt him with everything he possibly could? Surely there'd have been a succulent succubus offered to him there at some point?
I also would have thought Jesus had free will - same as man does.
And I would have thought his purpose was to spread the Word, in his parables and teachings. So he must have chosen crucifiction rather than being ordered to do it by God. To GIVE your life must surely be more powerful than to be ordered to go and die. To me the whole point is that he fought against his demons and his baser side (which everyone has) rather than being told what to do like an automaton!
Also, in one of the multitude of programmes which has sprung up around the Davinci Code, one presenter stated that in Jesus' time it was expected of every man that he should marry, and he could be outcast if he didn't!
