My sister had one that finally drove her crazy!
One day, when the bird was on the shoulder of her husband, she leaned in to give the hubby a kiss. The bird went mental! He kept pecking at her face and actually drew blood.
That was it for the birdie. He went bye-bye :-6

I understand the frustration, I really do... but it's like a lot of other
pets.
Parrots are REALLY intelligent, and they need a LOT of stimulus. If
you can up their activity level and their toy count (;) ) you'd go
a long way towards quieting them down. Different kinds of foods that
they have to work at a little to get to, hidden under a cup or something,
exercise their minds, too. And a good, steady routine helps. Cover them
at night, let them have a certain amount of regular peace and quiet
time. When you uncover them in the mornings, you'll probably have a
little extra "vocalization" for a bit.
Pet stores have lots of toys... wooden multi-colored blocks on ropes,
etc. and that might be a good starting point.
Heck, maybe Lulu can come tell us more... I've only ever cared for a
blue and gold macaw so not that much experience.

My Grandad had an African grey parrot, it tried to kill me! Grandad passed away, and I was staying at Moms til after the funeral, she asked me to get something from Gramps house (they lived in the same street) as I went into the darkened house, my Grandads voice came from the gloom..
"How do mate".....Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! I nearly had a freakin heart attack! And I nearly sh........! Well lets just say I don't like Parrots any more!

Forgot to mention, the bird I took care of was named "Ali".
Get it? Ali Macaw.
:p
She was beautiful, I still have some of her tail feathers (from natural
moult, I didn't pull them out!!). They are bright bright blue on one side
and a very distinct gold on the other.

If it makes you evil, your in a line behind me. I had an umbrella cockatoo that darn near drove me batty. It was fine for the first couple of years. Then I guess it become sexually mature. Holy crap. It's name was Casper and I darn near made a real ghost of it. Luckily right before the funeral the wife sold it.:-5

Harvey is an African grey. He is a nightmare he hates bright lights so at night we can't turn on any thing bright . He hates strangers ,he hates anyone walking directly up to to his cage you have to do it slowly .The thing that grates the most is one of his squarks /tweets it goes right through me and he always does it at the same time every day i'm sure the little critter can tell the time .

We have a nice quiet turtle....... and four active parakeets who sometimes can drive me crazy. One a nice day their cage goes on the back porch with them in it.
