As I watch a couple of the biggest national news stories, I can't help but being disgusted.

First off, this whole Foley thing. Forgetting the fact that politicians (and other people with "celebrity" status) seem to feel that they are above the law - how stupid do they really think that people are? You get caught and it makes national news so you have your lawyer tell the world that you have admitted yourself to a drug/alcohol rehab program?!? Then you have your lawyer tell the world that you were molested as a child, was under the influence of alcohol when you sent the e-mails and that you are gay?!?

What a bunch of bull!!! I know plenty of gay people and they don't send twisted e-mails to young teenagers! I was sexually molested as a child but I don't prey on young children! My FIL drinks like a fish and can manage to maintain enough presence of mind to not send young boys nasty, suggestive mail!

Call it what it is. YOU ARE A PEDOPHILE!!!!!!!! You may well be a drunk homosexual - but you are a pedophile! You need to be charged as such in a court of law. BTW - a prison cell is a great place to dry out and you should be able to find plenty of guys willing to oblige your homosexual tendencies.

As for the guy that killed the Amish girls - there is no excuse for what he did. Absolutely none. I sure wish the press would stop looking for one and just call him the worthless piece of garbage that he was.

I agree with your entire post. It can be pretty discouraging to take a long hard look at our world, can't it?

That's why it's even *more* important to look really hard for the good things in life.

We're all adults who view the news with much digust and disillusionment about people "in power". I often wonder how are young people feel as they see all this in the news. Perhaps, the "age of innocence" ends sooner for them than for us.

The problem is that every one runs as a republican or democrat. Cripes I want someone to run as a person who is going to be honest with us, who does'nt have outside intrests at stake and who don't send sexual e-mails to little boys. Is that asking too much?

In my opinion, people in the public eye should be setting an example - therefore

their punishment for transgressions ought in fact to be far more severe than

for us "ordinary" mortals.

Turn off the news, and put on Animal Planet or a good cartoon show................

I'm quite serious, I don't keep news on 24/7. And there is nothing good on regular TV, put on something cool. Or pop in your favorite video. Or better yet, read a good book.

What really tics me off is that Dennis Hastert and othe House members have to "discuss" how they will respond to the Justice Departments "request" to seize Foley's personal emails..Separation of Powers need to be maintained. What baloney I don't think the Founding Fathers were intending to use that as a means of protecting felons and perverts..

They did the same thing to stonewall the corruption investigation of Rep. William Jefferson who was found to have $25,000 of bribe money in his freezer. They don't cotton much to have the law equally applied to them. After all, they are the gods that send down the laws from the mountain top.

It is a Separation of Powers. The Powers are Separate from the rest of the People and are treated as such.
