Awww I got all emotional over this yesterday...

Jr Minks is in her 2nd year of Cosmotology at school, and her class now takes real clients so they get some practice. The students were chosen by a draw from a hat, and Jr Minks tells the story as follows....

Mom I sat there waiting hoping every time my name would be drawn, but it wasn't and I was disappointed but, one of the other girls was to nervours to do a manicure for real so she let me take her spot.

*They had a small group of senior ladies in from the local seniors complex*

Awww mom my client was so sweet, I did her nails and she told me about her grand kids, and she realized she did not have her purse with her and was upset so I said to her it's ok, the lady who brought you has arranged payment for everybody, but mom she still was upset and started to tear up, she was sad she could not tip me and my friend P and I had to calm her down. She was so sad about it mom I almost cried. When she went to leave she asked me if I got paid for the manicure and I smiled at her and said yes. But mom we don't but I just couldn't let her leave feeling bad.

Awwwww I sure do love my girls....

That story had me tearing up last nite. Jr Minks has a fondness for oldies, she always has wanted to work with them she just adores them.

I wish I could have seen her and the lady, she told me the lady asked her to guess her age and Jr Minks said 20 and the lady (L) giggled and said noooo guess again so Jr Minks giggled back and said ok 27 and apparently the lady was just loving this. She went on to tell Jr Minks she was 87 but it was a secret. Hehehehehe by the time they were done Jr Minks knew her name (L) all about her kids and family. So sweet huh.

I recall as a kid always loving my grand parent's stories. Even when my grandpa repeated his self endlessly ahahahaha

Me too.

I only knew two of my grandparents; my Dad's parents were already long gone

Jr. was kind and loving

Wish there were more young people wired that way

both my girls remember their great granny she was the typical little old "lady" very proper, white hair, fail and old. And even though she mostly spoke hungarian in her later years, my girls still think back fondly about her.

Sounds like she picked a great occupation. She seems to have the gift of the gab. It's really nice when people love what they do. She's got a lot going for her.

I remember when one of my nephews was really young -- I'm talking about Jordan, my twin sis' son -- my sister was explaining to him that Auntie Cher didn't have any children to help take care of her when she grows old.

Jordan, who loved me so much, turned to me and said, "Don't worry, Auntie. I promise to put you in an excellent nursing home."

I didn't know whether to kiss him or slap him

yes she does. She is persuing her cosmotology, incase she needs it while going to college for culinary arts, it's her back up plan sheesh at 15 she has this figured out.

At 15 I could barely decide weather or not to brush my hair before school.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Thats my bebe sister hehehehehe. I cant wait till I pop this baby out cuz shes going to do my hair for me hehehe.

But mom that story is adorible, one we can bring up when her and D get married hehehehehe.

And yes Great Grama was a cute little old lady, I used to love thos cookies she would always have for us when she came to visit. Only thing tho is that when I went to the store a few weeks back I bought me some, and they just were not as good:-1

Dont you remember tho mom "jr.Minks" was the one who would stay on the phone with grampa for hours and she wouldnt care that he would chat your ear right off? You are definately right, she has a t hing for oldies hehehehe.

I know already that she is going to be a great auntie and I cant wait!!

Gawd shes 15, Im 19 and all I know so far is that I want to be a mommy lol.

Jr.Minks has a great head on her shoulders and she sure has smartend up her b/f as well. I have noticed she has that effect on people......but why didnt she do that with me GAWD!!
