Rap, I used to have a shop selling teddy bears (just for 1 year but good fun) so I took to bears to work every day.

If I was talking to customers holding a bear I often found myself rocking it as if I was trying to get it to sleep!!!:)

What a fantastic job Imladris! There's just something about teddy bears, isn't there? You can't not love them! :D Did you have any favourites? Did you dress them up? :sneaky: What a great job, having fun and being paid for it! :)

Woohoo Choco! We'll start a mutual admiration society! What shall we call ourselves?

Lol - how about Choc (w)rapper??? hehehe :wah:

You're very welcome to use Rapper, I like that name a lot. I think Cher was brilliant to think it up! It sounds kinda sappy but I think its great that everyone is getting nicknames - its so friendly! :D

And I'm really glad you pinch my gifs too - now I won't feel so guilty when I nick every single one of yours!!! hehehe ;)

(It's your own fault ya know - you shouldn't find so many good ones!) :D

Lol! I didn't know that Floppy - we could have had fun with that one! hehehe :wah:

The calendar I use has at least one special day per day.... and sometimes there are 6 or 8 special celebrations per day! Then each week has a special meaning and so does each month... and then ones for 10 days or 2 weeks - there are just hundreds of special days - I bet Hallmark are cleaning up on them all too! :wah: ;)

It was fab cuddling bears all day, I definately had favourites I'm a big fan of Deans bears and we had one called Fotheringay who was white wore a tweed waistcoat and had round glasses, I'd just decided to keep him when he was bought - I was devasted!

I also like Russ and Gund bears. It was fun when we had real bear fans in and had to line up all the bears of a particular type so they could choose the 'best' one. I thought I was soft until then!!

OMG, Imladris, I love!!! your sig line!!! :wah:

I agree, Russ and Gund make gorgeous bears! I used to collect bears and stuffed animals and I always used to choose ones with wonky ears cos it gave them a 'personality'!

My daughter has them now. :D

We had one bear called Sleepy whose head was attached by a chain so it was floppy.

One day hubby decided to help me do the window display and created a cave for Sleepy and put a sign by it saying 'Shhh, bear hibernating, do not disturb'

It went down so well with the customers, I sold loads!!

I have lots of bears in storage, my favourite is a Deans Golden Jubilee bear who wears purple robes and a crown. But nothing really beats the first soft toy I had called Bunny who is grey and lovely!:)

There's a Teddy Bear Museum in Stratford upon Avon and in it is Mr Bean's original Teddy.

G'day Imladris - haven't met you before. I've went bush for a week - and what do I find when I return on Friday 13th. Everyone's cuddling up to teddy bears. This is truly frightening! :D

Hi Pam,

Hope you had a great holiday. I'm a big fan of Oz, my brother-in-law and his family live there and we went to visit a few years ago. Probably the best holiday I've ever had! Wonderful country and amazing people!! Will be back again sometime:)

Great to hear you enjoyed your visit to Australia Imladris! I'm on the road a lot, and always enjoy my time in the UK. That too, is a great country. Grin.

forgot to mention - visiting Oz pretty much cured me of my spider phobia! After seeing a huntsman spider I realised that what we have here are pansy's in comparison!! Didn't manage to cure me of my fear of daddy long legs though:thinking:

So ya haven't actually come face to face with the real firepower yet - ye olde funnelwebbe... ???? That's a treat yet in store. Redbacks can of course also be unfriendly if called upon to share a dunny seat.

Redback on the Toilet Seat

There was a redback on the toilet seat

When I was there last night

I didn't see him in the dark

But boy, I felt his bite,

I jumped high up into the air

And when i hit the ground

That crafty redback spider

Wasn't nowhere to be found

I rushed in to the missus

Told her just where I'd been bit

She grabbed the cut-throat razor blade

And i nearly took a fit,

I said, "Forget what's on you mind

And call the doctor please

Cause I've got a feeling that your cure

Is worse than the disease"

There was a redback on the toilet seat

When i was there last night

I didn't see him in the dark

But boy I felt his bite

And now I'm here in hospital

A sad and sorry plight

And i curse that redback spider

On the toilet seat last night

I can't lie down, I can't sit up

I don't know what to do

The nurses think it's funny

That's not my point of view

I tell you it's embarassing

And that's to say the least

Cause I'm too sick to eat a bite

While the spider had a feast
