I think that alcohol is one of the best liberators of the mind, in the sense that it makes you speak your mind, mostly in a negative way.

Oh yes!!!

Can't drink to excess any more 'cos it really makes me ill. But when I was younger I loved a good session, the problem was that I would do and say all the really daft things that most drunks do but I used to remember it all!! Not for me the comfort of alcohol induced amnesia oh no.......I had to relive it all in glorious technicolour the next day!!

And believe me there was quite a lot to be ashamed of!!!:yh_blush :yh_blush

Ok you asked for it...

Deciding that it would be a good idea to flash my stocking tops at a bloke with a camera! (yes they did get put on display...in a Police Station of all places, God the ribbing I got over that!)

Going to a very posh wedding (our landlord's son who owns a castle - only 'cos all the tenants went) where the champagne and wine flowed like water and the food was very tiny portions (didn't soak it up). Falling asleep in my chair with head back and mouth open, then deciding to walk home 'right now, no I won't wait for hubby I'm leaving'. Going down the country lane and taking my shoes off 'cos they hurt, sitting down in the hedge to take off tights 'cos they were not cheap and didn't want to ladder them, then (this is the best bit) deciding that it was so dark that I couldn't see where I was going anyway so I might as well close my eyes as I walked along....tripped over a drain and landed on my face!! (ouch!)

Not to mention the inappropiate snogging of me I didn't know or fancy on many occasions.

I think that that's enough humiliation for one person....some else's turn....please!!

I can't beat that :wah: :wah:

I think one of the worst things i did was deciding on a Saturday night (in my local with everyone we knew) that i would do a lap dance around a stool!!! No i did keep my clothes on THANK GOD (or they'd all still be in therapy!), Jim was trying to tell me nicely that it was time to leave, when he finally got me half way home i decided i needed to go to the toilet, so i had no choice but to go in the bushes, after climbing into the bushes to relieve myself i fell over so Jim had to come and pick me up(thank god he's strong!) anyway he helped me pull up my clothing and get me home. I woke up the next morning still dressed, head throbbing i made my way to the bathroom, i stripped to jump in the shower to find my bottom half covered in grass, and i do mean covered. The inconsiderate landscapers had chosen to cut the bloomin grass!!!! That is just one of many, hence why i hardly touch the stuff now!! :D

Thanks Cher.

Well, I went out for a couple of drinkies with my friend, Jenny and her daughter (who is just a little younger than me).

We had more than a couple and on our way home (we all lived in the centre of town then) we had to cross a park area which has a bandstand in the middle. Jenny was breaking her neck for a pee and decided to drop her trouser behind the bandstand and let nature take it's course much to her daughter's horror. No, I didn't do it too......honest:sneaky:

When Jim and i broke up a few years ago, i decided to go to Ascot races with the girls, 16 of us were going and we started drinking at ten in the morning, anyway we were all dolled up and if i say so myself we were looking pretty good! Some wally in the group, can't remember who :sneaky: thought it'd be good fun to see who could get the most kisses, the person with the most kisses won the pot of money £100. Before i knew it the race course was closing and i'd only seen one race!!!! We all decided the night was still young so we hit the local nightclub, where half the guys we'd all been kissing were there. Anyway 16 hours later i think i'd drunk myself sober, most of the girls had gone all except for 5 of us, well the club was closing and i felt starving, so the girls and i went to the garage opposite the club to get some food, to my horror the garage suddenly seemed full of all the guys i'd been kissing. The only thing i could think of was to hide, much to all the girls amusement i dropped to my knees and started to crawl between the aisle's, next thing i know a couple of the guys came over to ask if i was okay and ask why i was crawling on the floor!! What was even more worrying they asked me if they could take me out for a drink sometime!!! Now thats embarrassment. And before you ask i'm not telling you who won the dosh :D :D

I'm not a really big drinker. Every now and then I'll have a few. But the worst i've ever been was when I let hubby and his best friend mix my drinks for me. It was Jack Daniels with a splash of coke. Thank goodness we had hardwood floors, because I hate cleaning puke out of carpet. :o

Ok so here's one of my many drinking days stories. I used to have a favoriate night club that I would frequent 4 to 5 times a week. It was about an hours drive from my house. Alcohol runs through me within an hour's time! So one night during happy hour & beyond, I had several of my favoriate Bloody Mary drinks! They went down so easily, in between dancing with the many lovely foxy ladies! One for them, one for me, one for them, one for me, and they were so many of them & only one me, so needless to say I had to stay there until I sobered up!

Then to sober up I had 3 or 4 cups of Black Coffee! Coffee also runs through me within an hour. So it's now around 2am, I got the numbers I wanted, & it was closing time. I did my business before I left, but wouldn't you know it, driving along the desolate highway I had to wizz like a race horse! So since my brain was somewhat hijacked, I pulled the car over off on to the grass shoulder. I looked behind the car & no one was coming for as far as I could see. (it's 2:30am) So I was on the passenger side of the car wizzing away, & then off in the distance I begin to see headlights coming up the highway. I'm waiting for the headlights to pass, when it becomes apparent that the lights are starting to pull over on the grass shoulder behind my car. So I zip up quick, & make like I'm kicking the front tire. As it turned out, getting out of the car was a Female (one of the few at that time) State Trooper & her Male Partner. They asked me if I had car trouble, & I said that I thought I heard a thumping sound coming from the front tire, but it seemed ok! So they watched me drive off, lucky me! :D :p

I think with alcohol, a lot of times, things you would not say but have thought, comes out. I have a friend that Absolut vodka makes her the most truthful person in the world. If you have made her mad, you will know it.

As for doing things you normally wouldn't, well, I wouldn't dance on the bar sober but have after a night of drinking.:o

The scary thing is, I was dancing behind the bar while I worked a couple of weeks ago. I never, ever drink on the job so I was totally sober. For me to dance sober is unusual. :wah: A lady at the bar offered me $20 to dance on the bar. I stood there wondering how much trouble I'd get in with my bosses. I considered it sober. Makes me worry what I'd have done if I were drunk. :wah:

All joking aside, alcohol is a psychoactive drug that is also addictive and is a toxin that will kill you if you overdose on it, and of course long term it can ruin your life if your not respectful of it. Its fun to get drunk, but there is a big downside as well, being Irish I unfortunalty know all about that.

Sorry to be all nannyish on it, but it needs to be remembered on occasion.

You are so right, Jim has told you all before that a few years ago he hit the bottle after some family tragedies, things got so bad at home i had to ask him to leave. The problem is people drink to try to forget their troubles but in the morning they are coping with depression and the problems and disruption that drinking involes. The reason i got back with Jim is that apart from loving him, he stopped drinking altogether.

Wise words yet again :)
