since i am a nurse i almost always stop to offer to help when i come up on a accident.
Window Peeping...Art or Creepy ?
I'm not a nurse, but I always try to be the good samaritan and offer help...
I admit I might take a peek in an open window if they have a nicely decorated interior or something... I generally believe that an open window at night is intended to show off, too.

no there is the good samaritan act. as long as what you do in an emergency is in good faith and to the best of your ability, you are protected

Good for you.
Good for you.

You can still be sued... if you don't know what you're doing... my help has been less helping remove people from burning cars... although, I had to do that once or twice... but mostly it's been to help someone change a tire, give them some fuel, or of a law enforcement nature. I wouldn't do anything that would get me sued, certainly... and the only time anyone ever attempted to sue me was when I dis-armed and subdued an individual that was attempting to steal my car... and he was inside my car with a knife prying off where you insert your key... He abruptly dropped that, though when he realised he didn't stand a chance.

i'm not much of a window peeper, but then again I wouldn't want the nightmares that would come by peeping in my neighbors homes. :-2

I am not a voyeur in the true sense of the word - I just like to see what peoples houses look like. If they are going to leave their curtains wide open with all the lights blazing then they gotta expect people to look!
And some people really really need to get an interior decorator or get black out curtains
I like doing that too, Wendy. It's sort of homely. I also enjoy walking in suburban cities on a Saturday afternoon and seeing people barbecuing in their backyards, mowing lawns, taking dogs for walks, preparing supper, kids playing.. I suppose I am a bit of a voyeur. It's a nice homey feeling too though. A snippet of other lives, other possibilities.

I missed this one!
I am a window peeper too. It's great when winter sets in and people have to put their front room lights on, it's a veritable picture show. I have have the odd starer backer but that goes with the territory. You can tell a lot from peoples living rooms, sometimes I am horrified by the decor and other times slightly envious. If someone is scratching themselves or picking their nose it's extra points:wah:
Sadly though, recently I have been subject to some subtle eyeing. We don't have nets up at the window because we have windows with that old fashioned criss cross leading in, I hadn't realised what a great view you get from outside (we've recently moved in) until I got a little sick of heads bobbing into view with that uncomfortable moment of 'contact'. It seems that we are a peepers paradise:( Needless to say, the curtains now get shut at twilight. Who knows what people have already judged of me, but I will get my revenge....:wah: :yh_devil

I'm talking about the multi-car accident where there's already an ambulance at the scene. It seems sort of macabre to rubber neck while they're loading the injured into the back.
I was somehow first on the scene at two quite separate bicycle accidents. Splinted a broken arm on the first, and managed to at least stop any other bystanders mucking about with the second one until the ambos arrived and neckbraced him properly. (Working in a medical research facility means ya get loads of first aid training, though usually it's only PhD students backing into bunsen burners or spilling acid down their daks or needlesticking themselves)

So if I am walking by and your curtains are open and I take any more than a quick look or glance(and I am very likely to look very hard to see what I can see without crossing the street or your lawn)and you dash out and beat the crap out of me, do you suppose they might put you in jail. After all, I was just looking......... hard.
Anyone who wants their privacy to that extent better had close their curtains.

If anyone was looking through my window they would be trespassing.
You cant look through my window from the street, you would have to walk through a gate situated in a six foot wall, walk down a rather long pathway past some five foot hedges to peer through my window and as I said if I caught anyone peering through my window they better hope they can run faster than me.
also as I said.....

Well then an awful lot of people must be perverted because if my curtains are open, people walking by at night when the lights are on, or even in the daytime, can just look in and see unless I have my curtains shut. And believe me, 9 out of 10 or 10 out of 10 do. I am close to the street, large bay windows almost to the floor.
No one took your two paragraphs out of context. You said nothing of being so far away as to looking in your windows meant trespassing. The same reply knowing that information would definitely be taking it out of context. And if I am pissing you off, I am sorry cuz I don't usually do that. It is not one of my favorite hobbies.

Well I'd be upset too if somebody walked across my lawn and put their nose up to my window. You are sheltered from people being able to walk by and look in so it would be natural to be averse to people being able to see in so easily. It takes a bit of getting used to.
