Drive carefully Pinky, Jimbo I did see the scores, another villa draw, well its better than a lose. I'm not sure what happened to leeds though, they are having another bad season I think.

Good, good, you also have to do some recordings of your voice when you get there as well! I'd say you two will have a great time. :)

Excellent, I hope you have a good time, you seem to have had a bit of a turbulent weekend, I hope everything is good with you now. Give my regards to the leeds woman of FG.

Well, at least you will have some good female company for your adventures over the next few days and I'm sure your antics will go down in the lore of FG for many threads to come. As for me, I've had a pretty quiet weekend, getting ready for an interview tomorrow, I hope it works out, I'd be happy to get the post. :)

I'll let you know if it works out, it would be dissapointing to start banging on about it and then not get it, its a sciency thing anwyay so most people would probably find it a bit boring. Still, you never know.

Well given that Jupiter was Zeus, I've recently bought an Olympus digicam - how do you rate them?

What the greek pantheon of Gods, or the products of the Japanese company? I have a fujifilm digicam, and its pretty good once you get used to using it I'd say, but I've never used an olympus, I also have a proper old Canon 30 mm SLR which is a cracking camera, professional grade, not that I use it much, but its nice to have.

I always preferred the Greek Pantheon to the Roman - but then I always preferred originals.

I've given up using my SLR - I find no advantage in real life situations but I preferred my Pentax digi to the Olympus I replaced it with.

What do you think Hammy? (a pittiful attempt to get back on topic).

I had thought that the Great Red Spot would have proffered an opinion by this point!

Has anyone thought to alert the media and the local constabulary? I mean...Hamster & Pinky getting together might just generate a powerful storm or earthquake, at least! I assume there'll be a parade? Horns? Hats? Tiaras?

Okay I did my interview, it was for a research posting in a science college, there are 2 project areas, the first involves studying the behavior and lifecycle of nematodes in order to determine the quality of soil microclimates in envionmentally sensitive areas, the second is the remediation (or fixing) of habitiats via enzyemes in areas that have been poluted primarily with PCBs, (which are the chemicals that can leech out of plastics and from industry) and cause problems for creature such as amphibians and other smaller creatures such as Metazoans, which are very small creatures (like nematodes) that are present in soils and wetlands and are vital in the overall health of an area or habitat. Told you it was all a bit sciency, but its really interesting work, and it would result in a phD so I am really excited about doing it, I don't know yet whether I will get a post, as its slightly to one side of what I did as a chemist in University, but I have a decent chance, so fingers crossed. Thanks for the encouragement and interest, much appreicated.

Thank you snooze I had no idea I was so intelligent either :wah: , but seriously I really appreciate the support, I'm good at science and those sort of things, but after being away from research for so long, its not gonna be straightforward for me to get the posting, but I've decided over the past 6 months that thats what I really wanna get back into doing and of course environmental science is very important nowadays so it really seems like something worthwhile as well.

Damn I knew I forgot something, advanced hamster studies probably would have been useful, well, I won't know any more until next week, I hope that I get it, but I am not going to get too excited, this things are difficult to get. Anyway, whats happened so far, and how have pinky and hamster spent their first hour together, this story is going to run and run! :wah:

Thank you all, I was a bit reticent about saying anything, coz of course it might not work out, but i couldn't help it as I got excited, and the sciency nerd side of my personality won over. I'm glad now, coz you have all been very supportive, thanks.

Notive they aren't posting? I wonder what they are up to?, this is so interesting. Being english girls they are no doubt having a cup of tea, pinky's getting her bearings and they are planning how to take on the local constabulary as we speak. Oh hamster, did you hear that Leeds Utd are talking to Dennis Wise about taking over as manager, any thoughts?
