Yes!

No one has snooped my cell but my mail, yes! Grr!!

That's one thing I'm adamant about. Don't mess with my mail!

I agree Jimbo-no one touches the mail but me. Who wants to pay all those bills anyway?

I agree and don't go through my purse unless you ask either. Cell phone never thought about that one.

I had a girlfriend once, who got a bit overjealous and started opening my letters, that was the end of that I'm afraid, I wasn't interested in any other woman, but after that I started to think that maybe I should be. Its a judgement call, but people going through your personal stuff is a very bad sign about where things are going. I can't understand fellas either that want to keep their girlfriends locked up at home as if as soon as they let them do their own thing they are gonna start having affairs, not good.

This isn't so much a privacy issue as a trust issue.

If your partner feels the need to go through your personal email, or phone, or messages etc, then he/she obviously doesn't trust you at all. With no trust, that's going to be a pretty painfull relationship, with lots of arguing I'll imagine!

I think it's a pretty sneaky thing to do, but it does highlight that there is a problem with your relationship. Why does this person feel the need to check up on you? It's pretty insulting really!

My husband is fiercely private, much more so than me

One time when I was putting his laundray away

I found a *big* stack of cards and notes (even little ones, like Post-It notes) from me that my hubby had saved -- even stuff like "Hope you have an excellent day" or "Good luck with the Deposition today!".

He's not very verbal when it comes to expressing his emotions

But I was glad to see how important those little things are to him :-6

Over jealousy is a bad sign, if you care for someone you will not snoop through any of their things.

Just incase you mis-interpretated this post i don't go through his post, phone or e-mails!!!!! Jim goes mad if i look a thread in which he's posted, he says it looks as though i'm spying, if his phone has been left in a room he says 'who's been going through my phone', i find that behaviour really strange and it makes me wonder if he really is trying to hide something!!!!!!!:D

You know, Red :)

I used to argue with my husband about his inability to express his feelings. It caused hurt on both sides.

Then one day I said to him, "It's obvious to me that I love you *more* than you love me."

And he replied, "It's only obvious that you SAY it more than I do."

So I realized that just because someone doesn't express their feelings

Doesn't mean they don't have any :-6

My mail is just that - mine - and not for anyone else. Same goes for email, and my purse, but as far as my cell goes...not a biggie really.

I'd be pretty angry if my bf looked at my personal things, as it would be indicative that he doesn't trust me and is potentially accusing me of cheating, or doing something I shouldn't be doing.

It's accusations of that nature that would drive me away.

I couldn't be with someone that didn't trust me, it would make me feel like I was treading on eggshells even though I was doing nothing wrong.....

I'm not really bothered if someone I know looks through my stuff. I have nothing to hide. However I have been guilty of looking through hubby's stuff, but I had good reason too.

The only thing that really bothers me is for someone to read over my shoulder, that bugs the crap out of me.

Wouldn't it bother you that, regardless of whether or not you had something to hide, your partner didn't trust you and felt the need to check up on you?

nope, he had an affair on me 3 years ago, and after we got through all that we both decided no secrets. So I know all his passwords and he knows mine. But this doesn't mean I snoop through his stuff everyday. I did alot at first, but now I don't even think to snoop.

If my sister looked, that wouldn't bother me as much as a partner doing it, as it would just be nosiness, rather than someone trying to catch me out and not trusting me....

I have nothing to hide - but my purse has my life in it (suit case). It would take my husband all day to find the right compartment - he never enters without asking. Jimbo who is opening your stuff? glove compartment etc.?

When the mail arrives neither one of us want it - I receive the mail labeled Mrs. and I hope he receives all/most of the bills.

Cher - my husband keeps all the notes I write and I keep all of his. I have a difficult time throwing anything away.

We're not jealous or suspicious of eachother.

When I was dating my ex-husband, my ex-mother-in-law called me at work one day to read me a letter that her adult daughter (who lived with them while attending college) had received in the mail from her boyfriend. I ASSUMED that she had gotten the o.k. to do so from the daughter - NOT!!!! Once she finished reading it to me, I asked her something like, "Wow, how does Carrie feel about that?" to which she replied, "Oh, she hasn't seen it yet." I was aghast and appalled to know that she had opened her daughter's mail, read it, and was reading it to me - all before her daughter had even seen it!!! I still, to this day, cannot believe it. The even bigger surprise was to know that, once Carrie found out that had happened, she thought it was no big deal - she thought that was NORMAL behavior!!
