When *I* grow up....

Post by RedGlitter »

When you were a kid or a teenager, what did you want to be or do when you got older?

Did you end up doing it?

What are you doing now?

I wanted to be an actress, an architect or a writer. I realized the actress thing wasn't going to fly and I failed drafting miserably. (I had a fish stream running through the bathroom with a plexiglass automatic cover so people could walk over it.)

I've never been published nor have I ever tried but I have had many uses in life for my writing skills.

I became a hairdresser after high school, did that for a few years and then had various no-big-deal jobs. For the last seven years, I've run an animal rescue group in my town. That's the job I'm most proud of.

You?? :)

I always wanted to be an actress/dancer or an air hostess, i was unable to do the acting as my parents couldn't afford the classes, the air hostess went out the window when i realised i got scared flying! I went on to do a little modelling, working in an office, having my children, becoming a beauty therapist and i'm now training to be a hairdresser!!! I'm just so indecisive

I wanted to be a vet or a paleoontologist. I am a teacher.

I still want to go back to school when I retire in about 10 years, to get a degree in paleontology.

Psychologist. So of course I naturally joined the Air Force and worked in transportation. :-2

While I was in, I pursued my psych degree until Golden Gate U. offered a fast-track curriculum in Human Relations. I figured human relations ... psychology .... pretty close right? Turns out it was a business management degree.

Long story short, I'm still working toward getting into some kind of advisory position.

adolescent - psychology, which is what I'll be come May of next year :)

current - same goal, almost there, but I've been in the helping field for about 6 years now.

I wanted to be a doctor. It's sad to say that even as recently as my childhood, little girls from poor families did NOT get into medical school. So, I just "played" doctor, instead! (:wah: )

Things worked out for the best, actually...I'm a great believer in that.

HAH! You, too? I have another friend who's a BAV==="born again virgin." She has great fun with this. Unfortunately, nobody believes her!

Now...about PINKY as "virginal."

I wanted to be a fashion designer, however flunking my sewing class in 8th grade quickly made that idea go away.

When I went to college I started out wanting to be a social worker, however I didn't like all the psychology courses I was having to take. So I switched to a history major then quit going to college. :(

As a kid my main ambition was to stay that way.

When I had to chose, I went with my interests and read biochemistry - so obviously I ended up designing computer systems for banks.
