morning!
What is it about getting up at the butt-crack of dawn, to go to work, that I hate so much? It takes me soooooooooo long to wake up in the morning! I hate rushing, yet I'll stay in bed till the last minute. True, I've worked the night shift for most of the last 16 years......now THATS my shift! No problem getting up, and no problem sleeping during the day. Any one else have a vampiric nature like that? :-6

morning!
I love working nights, it's always so peaceful and going outside on my break is wonderful, the silence and the stars.
Don't mind mornings either though, I get up at 5am and leave between 5:30 and 6am, it's a great way to start the day, all peaceful. Coming home in rush hour I just hate though.

Bad Girls have very high standards, but they love you even if you sometimes fall short.
morning!
I sure do miss my nights! Hopefully with my new job, I'll at least be able to work them once in awhile. I like the sunrises the best, driving home.

morning!
The office I work out of is about 70 miles from my house, and I get to go all over Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and all points in between. This means I get up at 5 am to walk the dog before going out.
I enjoy going out early in the morning, especially in the spring and autumn, driving on the motorway with no hold ups (its a different story on the way home of course!) Its also good driving through the Pennines or over the Peaks with no other cars for company.
When I used to work as a diver it was always weird to dive at night (if I'm honest, I never really fully enjoyed the experience) as no matter how familiar you were with a site during the day, it was very different come nightfall. If you were lucky (or unlucky depending on your point of view) something out of the ordinary would sometimes loom out of the dark to take a look at you as well.
I used to have a friend who was in the navy who used to say 'if you cant soar with the eagles you shouldnt play with the owls.' Good advice, but easier said than done on occasion!

Is that like 'if you cant run with the big dogs, stay on the porch'? :yh_laugh
I'm a sworn true and blue, graveyard shifter. Also known as night owls, shadow dogs, etc. Love the things that go 'bump' in the night.
Seriously, it's the best shift in a hospital, to me. Day shift has too many chiefs, and not enough indians!

I never thought about it, but I seem to be able to work about any shift. I went from working till 3 am, (the bar) to getting up at 6 to be to work by 7 (at the clinic) with no problems. I can get up after 5 hours of sleep and have some coffee and be good for the day, (whatever time it is) and really not feel tired. I'm currently applying at both bars and vet clinics so I have no idea what shift I will end up working. Don't much care, either, as long as I get to work soon! :-5
