My hubby is not the romantic type either....but he is so good to me. He laughs at my little jokes, he thanks me for cooking a meal and says, "That was great." He'll sometimes watch a program on the TV that I pick.He opens the door for me. He ignores my little imperfections. Ofcourse, I appreciate this, and I just treat him the same way I would want to be treated. And sometimes life has a happy unexpected surprise......like a flower from the yard, a back rub, a brief slow dance in the livingroom.

Romance is not a constant thing......it is "an expected happy surpirse.":)

Just call me a dreamer..........................:)

But my husband was very romantic before he was ill. He always sent me long stemmed roses on special days-he sent me some on Valentine's Day to school. Oh, that was sweet. The girls in class all sighed in delight, and the boys said "Yuchy!":wah:

http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take

The Carnal Lover

45% partner focus, 71% aggressiveness, 55% adventurousness

Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that:

You prefer your romance and love to wild and daring rather than typical or boring, you would rather pursue than be pursued and, when it comes to physical love, you concentrate more on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about your performance.

This places you in the Lover Style of: The Carnal Lover.

The Carnal Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, though it is often confused with terms like "player" or even "slut." The Carnal Lover is not necessarily either of those things (though sometimes is) but is instead a lover of life, romance and pleasure. The Carnal Lover is a treasure to find, though can sometimes be difficult to keep happy once found, because a Carnal Lover often loves a variety-filled life.

In terms of physical love, the Carnal Lover tends to be dynamic and driven, and can therefore be quite pleasurable. Given the right motivation, and the right lover, the Carnal Lover can be a delight in bed.

Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Surprising Lover (most of all) or the Devoted Lover, or the Liberated Lover.

I used to think my husband was as romantic as a train crash until one Valentines. (Bearing in mind that he thinks it is an excuse to exploit people for money)

The chap who used to work for us was wanting ideas to suprise his wife so I told him to greet her from work with a glass of wine, have a bubble bath ready for her with candles in the bathroom and chocs and her fav magazine and let her have a soak whilst he made dinner. Well that's what he did for me!! I nearly died with shock - he just said 'well you've dropped enough hints'.

My hubby isn't romantic but he's loving in his own way, supportive (again in his own way) and very practical. he'd rather do something to help me than tell me he loves me but that's ok.

By the way, our former employee is a very romantic man who loves all the fuss and grand gestures but he has had numerous affairs throughout his marriage, has now shacked up with a 16 year old girl (he's 36) and thinks it's ok to sleep around as long as his wife doesn't find out 'cos it's his 'private life' so I know which I prefer!!

Interesting test K.

I have always considered myself to be somewhat of a romantic. According to this test I guess I am. :wah:

The Devoted Lover

81% partner focus, 38% aggressiveness, 45% adventurousness

Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that:

You prefer your romance and love to be traditional rather than daring or out-of-the-ordinary, you would rather be pursued than do the pursuing and, when it comes to physical love, your satisfaction comes more from providing a wonderful time to your partner than simply seeking your own.

This places you in the Lover Style of: The Devoted Lover.

The Devoted Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, and is perhaps the best Lover Style when it comes to developing a long-term, caring and rewarding relationship. The Devoted Lover is a treasure to find, though it is sometimes difficult to time establishing a relationship with one just right; usually, this is the last romantic relationship you'll need to find, so sow any wild oats first.

In terms of physical love, the Devoted Lover can be shy at first but gradually warms and eventually can be a thrilling partner who knows every need of his/her partner. Given a strong and loving relationship, and the right lover, the Devoted Lover can be a delight in bed.

Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Suave Lover (most of all) or the Classic Lover, or the Carnal Lover.

At Christmas I no more desire a rose

Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled mirth;

But like of each thing that in season grows. -Shakespeare

Unfortunately I'm a hopeless romantic as well. I say unfortunately because I tend to 'ass+u+me' that others should be as well, and I end up getting my self hurt. I've had to work on letting others be themselves and accept that everyone isn't going to act the way I think they should (dammit)

Here's mine

The Romantic Lover

72% partner focus, 76% aggressiveness, 35% adventurousness

Based on the results of this test, it is highly likely that:

You prefer your romance and love to be traditional rather than daring or out-of-the-ordinary, you would rather pursue than be pursued and, when it comes to physical love, your satisfaction comes more from providing a wonderful time to your partner than simply seeking your own.

This places you in the Lover Style of: The Romantic Lover.

The Romantic Lover is a wonderful Lover Style, and is the hallmark of young love--the Romantic Lover often loves the idea of being in love, and being a wonderful lover, and so they try to bring their prospective partners every bit of joy or happiness that they can. They are the serenaders, and the ones to rent carriages in the park or take a gondola ride down a canal. The Romantic Lover is a treasure to find, though they sometimes are prone to being hurt if their advances are ignored or harshly rebuffed.

In terms of physical love, the Romantic Lover can seem shy, but usually it is simply a by-product of wanting to be perfect for their lover, and often needs some extra encouragement and re-assurance to truly feel at ease. Given a special, intimate evening, and the right lover, the Romantic Lover can be a delight in bed.

Best Compatibility can probably be found with: The Classic Lover (most of all) or the Suave Lover, or the Exotic Lover.

Congratulations!

It all comes back to managing expectations

Once I lowered my expectations for my husband

I became *very* happily married
