yes, it is free. i have talked ot hammy that way. go to skype.com and download it. it is free all over the world.:wah:

I have Skype, it's free skype to skype you only pay if you call skpe to landlines.

Yes it is free and work very well. You might want to consider getting a webcam so you can talk and see the person as well.

I ended up with an account at www.sipgate.co.uk instead of skype - I wanted to make cheap calls to landlines. I just spent 12 minutes on it talking to Network Solutions across the Atlantic and the bill itemised at 20p. I don't pay a landline rental either which saves me £11 a month, the only connection into this apartment is the fixed price cable modem.

The list of countries I can call for under £1.30 an hour is surprising - it includes Singapore, China, Norway, all of North America, Chile, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Korea, Israel, as well as the usual closer suspects. I started out using a normal handset but I've ended up with a headphone and clip-mike as more convenient.

I've got Skype. I've talked to Theia and Weeder.

It's amazingly clear although there was a bit of echo when I spoke to Weeder.

me and carolley both use skype,my laptop dosnt need a mic or headphones they are both built in.we have been rabbiting on skype for the past 12 months at least.also we chat to friends in os!

Oh blimey....Skype....I haven't used it for so long I'd forgotten about it.

When I had 'puty' problems 2 weeks ago, I lost everything. I'll go and try and resurrect it or re-register..........then..............I'll have to go and hunt for the mic/headphones.
