A few weeks ago i posted a thread asking for advice on my hospital needle incident, i am just updating you all on how it is going.
Well i have been to see a solicitor and got the doctor to do a copy of my medical records to prove i didnt have hep b before i stood on the needle, the solicitor tried to resolve it out of court but the hospital declined so it is going to court, i am just waiting for my date to come threw the solicitor thinks i have a very good case.
When i have been to court will let you all know what happened.
Thanks all for your help

Well done Angel, you've done the right thing chasing this up, the hospital should'nt be seen to get away with it.
It does'nt surprise me that they refused to settle out of court, they wont like admitting liability
Good luck luv, let us know how it progresses xx

Sorry to for what happened to you.
It's strange they're going to go to court, unless they settle last minute, most can't afford bad publicity.
Eg. Ipswich Hospital trying to put on babies death certificate "cause of death septicemia" instead of MRSA.
Don't know the story, just read the thread, I'm forever cleaning up after doctors and telling them about leaving stuff everywhere.
Have to ask, were you a patient there, and were you wearing shoes?
I tell patients off for that too, knowing the sort of things that can be dropped, there's a good few physio's I've had to explain the dangers to as well.
Anyway, good luck.

hey letha yes i was a paitient and yes i was wearing slippers (thetere slippers) as i had a operation earlier that evening and wasnt allowed to wear my own i was doped up on morphine too which didnt help the panic. so no it wasnt my fault. it was their misconduct and rubbish cleaners as i was told it was a thetere needle i stood on and it could of been in the carpet for a few weeks. whats a theter needle doing on a ward? i am just lucky it wasnt HIV

Well at least they can't try to blame you then, that was my thinking, I know it's weak, but if you weren't wearing anything on your feet then they could've tried using that.
