Learning the Lingo

Post by Uncle Kram »

I have decided to have a bash at learning Italian. I think it might be tricky at first getting the pronunciation as it's not phonetic, but I bought a book at the airport before my recent trip and was confident enough to order meals in Italian even though Ciao was all I knew before I left. Apart from Accadue, can anyone else speak Italian?

Recently I learnt a phrase, which says " f.........the whole enchilada"

Considering that I did not even know what the "enchilada" was, I have been told that this phrase is quite used in Texas.

Yet, they told me - if it was necessary - that it is not a polite phrase....

I generally never use un-polite words - I know them, but I don't like to use them.

Sorry Accadue, I was being uncharacteristically naughty :D

Let's start with something easy. How about "Forum Garden"?

Oh Unc', that is cool you are learning Italian after your trip. Then you can go back again, and be fluent in it!

Ciao!

Non penso che possa aiutarla a tutto il perché il mio italiano è molto debole.

La desidero la fortuna buona.

Tentare e lei riuscirà.
