It's difficult to make someone understand that you're trying to help and want nothing back for yourself - eh Jimbo! (you know what I mean!!)

Just let her know that you have done this because you care and really want her to achieve this ambition. If she insists on paying you back then you probably will have to take it back, but (and I'm not being callous) she is terminally ill and there will be a funeral which may have flowers or donations or her next of kin may be grateful for the help with the bill. It's a horrible situation to be in but I'm sure that you will know instinctively how to handle it.

Thinking of you. x

If she wants to pay, tell her you'll make her watch West Ham instead. That should keep her quiet. Or arm-wrestle her for them :D

Jimbo, sometimes we receive and sometimes we give, tell her you're balancing things out and want to spread a little joy around

P.S. Up the Villa

Perhaps you should practice a little of what you do online here. Maybe write her a note with what you want to say.... or if you don't feel able, get a friend to draft your sentiments for you, letting her know that it's as much for you as it is for her. That in a dark world, you've experienced some light and want to pay it forward where you can.

Take care

You could tell her that you've won them in a competition and you can't go because Sue's poorly,

and you dont want them to go to waste.

Good luck Good guy. :-4
