Those 'warnings' you see popping up are actually pop-up adverts you are receiving due to so-called 'spyware', computer programs that download and install themselves in order to serve up advertisments to you.
Fortunately, there ARE steps you can take to eliminate this problem. First, if you are running Windows XP, you should update to Service Pack 2, as well as install all critical updates (you can do this by pointing Internet Explorer to windowsupdate.microsoft.com).
Secondly, you should download and install a spyware-cleaning program. I recommend Spybot, which you can obtain here. I recommend you read the information under 'tutorial' (which is on the left-hand navigation area on that site) to understand how the program works.
Third, if you are not running any kind of anti-virus software then you are opening yourself up to a host of malicious software; I suggest that you immediately acquire some form of virus protection. In addition, the onus is on you to make sure to UPDATE that virus program periodically to ensure you are blocking the latest nasty viruses.
These steps in conjunction will ensure that you are patched against the latest security threats to your computer, as well as clean off spyware that you already have installed. In addition, the antivirus will help make sure you don't lose computer data to malicious programs.
I hope this helps!

Hello and welcome KS:
Hawke is correct about spy-ware, make sure you understand what he said about reading the "tutorial".
I have rescued many peoples computors after they took a critical file out with these programs.
I use ad-aware myself. It seems to be a little friendlier (my opinion)
Here is the dowload.com site where you can get for free:
