What Do You See From Your Location?

Post by Lon »

It is 8:22 AM Saturday morning. I am at my small desk with my 2nd cup of coffee. The sun is shining and it is 18 C (65 F). In front of me and slightly to my right is a small picture window, and from this second story location I am looking out at the Christchurch estuary. The tide is in and the wind is blowing hard enough to create white caps and to give the seagulls and effortless ride.

In the foreground is "Shag Rock", a prominent piece of land the size of a small home, where the sea birds find refuge. And beyond "Shag Rock" I can see the entry to the estuary and the surf of the Pacific Ocean. The temp will probably git up to 22 C today, sufficiently warm enough to get the locals out to the beaches in droves. As for me, off to golf to make a 10 AM tee time. Happy Easter to everyone.

It's 1:35 PM right now. It's cloudy and cold outside. Wondering where Spring is?! I'm watching two monitors and am surrounded by an office that desperately needs a wheelbarrow and two more filing cabinets. (I'll get to it, promise!)

All three cats are asleep, one of our little dogs is playing with his ball and the other is asleep outside on the front porch. Just finished talking to a friend on the radio. He may show up here in an hour. Getting ready for my kids to arrive home from school. Making plans for tonight's dinner and preparing for the kids' activities this weekend.

5:01 pm, Friday afternoon. Being on the second floor, pretty much all I see is trees. But if I go to my living room window and look down, I see the motorcycle, finally uncovered, waiting for our first ride of the season. I'm actually jittery, I'm so excited. My lard-butt of a cat is sacked out in "his" room, annoyed that we are jamming Eric Clapton and disturbing his beauty sleep. The other really nice sight that I see is Bullet in my kitchen, cooking dinner. Chicken Creole. YUM!!!

Bullet's trial was a farce. Can I get an AMEN?????

It's 5:25pm and I'm at work near a window that overlooks I-35 and a major suburban intersection. It's a cold drizzly day in metro KC today. The shabby industrial area here is markedly depressing. A group of Hispanic kids are skateboarding across the street. It'll be a long shift tonight........

It is about a quarter til 9 am here, Saturday morning. Up over my computer my window blinds are open and I see fog. These windows face my backyard and I see the top of my PT Cruiser and the outlines of tall trees trying to bud for spring.

My parakeets are chirping behind me. I have an old film noir movie on television for background noise. The washing machine and dryer are softly churning also.

I am sipping lukewarm coffee (cream, no sugar).

Hubby is at work and I will join him later for lunch. ;)
