Who else can't stand word game threads?

Post by 24Hours »

I can't stand them. I'm actually sickened at the thought of opening them. They're worse than boring an inane posts. They take that scale into the negative. It's worse than watching golf on TV or as fun as staring at cement to find patterns.

Anyone else anti-word-game thread?

There's a small handful I like, the rest I just don't open. But many people like them and I think that's great. It's a great diversion.

With such a wide number of folks here, you will find that there are many interests. I , personally, do not care for the religeon or sports threads. Therefore, I just don't open them

I play some of the word games, and do like them. The rest I just don't open.

Lots of different tastes here, 24.

Agree totally. I can't stand word game threads!!!

Still, I think one of the strengths of this Forum is our diversity - and the diversity of the threads too. There's a place for the equivalent of a knitting circle.

I also note that the people who have begun such threads are mostly people I care about, and whose input in other areas - both in subject matter and intellectual depth - is very considerable.

Perhaps there is a hidden philosophical layer even to threads on words ending in -ing!!! Rather like one of my own favourite inane threads - tlw - the last word - which can be a wonderful leaping off point into flights of fantasy and surreality.

At the risk of going on someone's "notepad" (like I care) I don't

think it's right to start a thread saying what type of threads you

can't stand. It's a pretty direct slam against anyone who has

started one.

Some threads I maybe "can't stand"? Sure. I exchange gripes about

them with like-minded Gardeners.

Let the begin!

Oh lighten up! Slam!? Sheesh, I think we'd be taking an internet message board thread on word games a little too seriously to call this a slam! Yes, Valerie - I think people who start or enjoy word game threads are INFERIOR! :wah:

Valerie, I am not seriously complaining about them because I just don't care that much and I was willing to take the big gamble that people who start or enjoy them could handle some chop busting.

Why are you thinking this??? Who cares about how others spend their time here, and who are you to come in and "chop bust" people you really do not know anything about? Sorry pine nut but your tactics stink
