I once got in a sticky situation with someone who had already had the baby but was still pregnant-looking. I made a good save but I learned my lesson.

Some big people look pregnant due to their shape. It's always better to let them tell you. :-3

So how did you handle it after she said she wasn't expecting??

How did the woman react , was she really offended:) . I came out of hospital within six hours of having my daughter (i hate hospitals with a passion) and the next day my mother came and offered to look after her so we could do some much needing food shopping . While out i bumped into and old friend who said to me " aint you dropped that bloody kid yet " i said "yeh yesterday" well her face, i felt so sorry for her. I still had my baby belly i mean id only given birth within the last 24 hrs . I do however find most things quite funny so didn't take offence . ;)

You made an honest mistake don't beat yourself up about it :)

No point. I was just wondering if you were really being callous and unkind to heavy people or if it was a joke.

I made a similiar mistake few weeks ago..

I asked news to a young man about the pregnancy of his wife - I have heard she was pregnant - but - ohmyGod - he told be that she had a natural abortion...

Oh, if only I could have a re-wind !!!!

I get that all the time with my plump belly. The worst part is I havent been able to get pregnant, and that hurts even more.

It happened to me a few times in my life-time...I used to wear big dresses and have a stomach...so I understood how they could make the mistake.....still it was embarrassing and I usually went on a diet soon after that would happen....

The worse was...I was in the Post office (a small one at that) full of people and a woman and I were talking, there was others talking as well, and then she asked when my baby was due (I was wearing a big dress...) and the room got quiet just as I said "I'm NOT pregnant", I wasn't mad...and actually just felt so bad for her, everyone stared at her and her face got so red...A family member who is a quicker thinker than I am said..."why didn't you just say In May??"...I wish I would've, felt so bad for her...
