Casablanca was originally supposed to feature Ronald Reagan in the role of Rick.

The famous scene at the end of the film as Bogie and Bergman stand on the tarmac as a ground crew readies the DC-3 for takeoff :

Due to wartime demand, a DC-3 was unavailable to the studio, so they built a 1/2 scale model. They used "little people" in the roles of the ground crew to keep the aircraft in perspective.

While I was confirming the DC-3 story on a Google search, I also learned that when Ingrid Bergman cries in the film, only her left eye tears.

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

Ilsa says "Play it once, Sam, for old times' sake"; in response, Sam tries to lie, saying "I don't know what you mean, Miss Ilsa"; and she says "Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By.' " When Rick hears the song, not realizing yet that Ilsa is there, he rushes up and says "I thought I told you never to play that." Later, alone with Sam, he says "You played it for her and you can play it for me. If she can stand it, I can! Play it!" In A Night in Casablanca, all this dialogue was parodied using the line "Play it again, Sam" — a phrase which has incorrectly become associated with the original film.

there is one thing I know for sure though, I will never ever watch it in colour, it just wouldn't be the same.

Why do you think I used "Play it, Sam" in my OP?
