Wisdom teeth

Do you really need to go to hospital to have them out? ive got a wobbly one & its starting to give me gip, cant the dentist just pull it?

Most dentist can pull them, or the send you to a specialist but it doesn't require a hospital stay unless you have major gum or jaw problems its pretty simple.

Both of my right ones have come in, but my left wisdom teeth haven't even appeared yet...

I haven't talked to anyone about wisdom teeth, mainly because the ones that are in now don't give me the least little bit of problems, but I find that weird that only one side have come in.

Dentist. And dont leave without Vicodin. Its not that often you get a chance to get that so milk it.

It really all depends on what the x-rays show. One of my top wisdom teeth had curved roots, so the dentist sent me to an oral surgeon. He was afraid his pulling it would cause damage to my sinus cavities.

So i take it most people lose wisdom teeth quite young then?

Its not bad Scot girl. You dont feel pain, just pressure and the nerves are gone afterward so that pain is minimal. It is a little disconcerting though. It'll be ok. Best to just do it.

A dentist will do them. I had mine done by an oral surgeon because all four had to come out at once, and the dentist wanted me to have a general anesthetic. But it was still done as an office visit. Just needed someone along to drive me home.

Nahh nothing to be scared of. I've only had my top 2 removed. My bottom ones weren't anywhere to be seen on the x-rays. And besides they are nice and give you drugs. I had to take a Valium before they removed mine, then kept me on the laughing gas the entire time.

Was up most of last night & in quite a bit of pain this morning, cant eat or drink, appointment at 10 past 4 for removal, update you later, if i live, not that im being a drama queen or anything :rolleyes:

I had two out when I was in my early 30's. Had it done whilst asleep 'cos of cutting and stiching required.

Wasn't allowed home until I'd eaten something - managed ice cream!!

They told me to gargle with warm salty water to speed up the healing, tastes foul but does help. Also watch out for smelly breath from dried blood in your mouth - can wilt flowers from 20 paces!!

Wasent so bad really, it was already wobbly so dident take much effort to get it out, she even offered me - would you like to do it yourself - wtf, as if
