Prologue
Born in north London on 25th October 1985, we moved from my grandmother’s house when I was just two years old to another part of the country. My childhood started living in the lower class area of a seaside town and by the age of nine most of my friends were dealing drugs and stealing cars and in between all that I was also a victim of bullying whilst in school, strange times they for someone so young. My mother and step father at the time decided we should move to the quiet country side and start a small holding. It had been their life’s ambition and they had always wanted to break out from the rat race of the city and settle down with a nice elegant cottage out in the country with a few animals, where my mother could create and maintain a vegetable garden and my step father could tend to the pigs grunting in the paddocks.
This is where I spent the rest of my childhood days, some twenty miles away from the nearest town, even two miles away from the nearest newsagents and the neighbours were even a fair walk. This was a beautiful life and I was saved from what could have been a very different outcome, but I soon discovered that boredom was about to lurk on me. At this point I spent of much of my time at my friend’s houses, riding bikes everywhere, watching television for hours at a time, playing computer games and eventually I started writing poetry. Unfortunately this life was not meant to last and by the age of fifteen my mother and step father separated and we moved nearer to the town. I set my own business from home at this young age which enabled me to travel and gain so much experience in life at such a an age, I grew up very quickly.
By the maturity of seventeen I moved to the city so I could find real work and live life to the absolute full, the city was the place to go to do this. Night clubs, parties, restaurants, cinemas, concert venues, footballs grounds and people – lots of people. This was my style of life and created so many friends in this period, I was happy, very happy. But after two years of living a very faced paced and action packed life of work and play, travelling much of the country and some parts of Europe my life was about to change once again.
In this world nothing ever stays the same for very long, unless you are the type of person to spend much of your life at home, perhaps time is quite slow for these people, but for me every day was something new. It wasn’t until I went to Morocco with my mother for a week’s holiday in September of 2005 that my life was about to radically change direction. After almost deciding against the trip due to lack of money on my mothers part I agreed to front the rest of the money just because we hadn't been on holiday together for three years. The first night in the hotel I went to the local disco, when realizing it was actually quite a well designed European night club. However there were very few people in there at this time and I didn’t stay. The second night came around by which time I had met a Moroccan man of a similar age to me called Khalid who told me to stay in the club a little later as it got busier as the night went on. He was right. After some time I remember standing at the bar ordering a drink and turning round to see the most beautiful girl dancing by herself on the dance floor. I asked Khalid if he knew her, if she spoke English, if she had a boyfriend or anything of the sort. He didn't know the answer to most of the questions so I didn't hesitate and started dancing near her and as she turned round, our eyes linked together and the rest you’ll have to complete the read of this book to find out. By the end the week, the holiday wasn't about sightseeing or going down the beach, it was about meeting what had become the love of my life. So much happened which couldn’t have been just coincidence?
An English man living in the United Kingdom and by religion Christian finds true love with an Arabic girl living in Morocco and her religion is Muslim. Language barriers included. How could this work?
-----
Love is about finding that one person in your life, someone special that means more to you than anything else in the world. And when you find that person, you’ll fight for them. You risk it all; you put that person in front of everything, all of it. Maybe not everything you do will be by the laws of the world, but in your heart you know, that the juice is worth the squeeze. Sometimes you must open your heart and mind to accept the beauty in this world, not everyone will agree with your decisions not will they agree with your reasons, but you must follow your heart.
Real love stories never have endings.
