Would you like to know, in advance, the date of your own death?

No way! I want to be hit by a Mack truck when I'm looking the other way! I don't even want to see it coming!

Nope. I would spend so much time obsessing about the fact I was about to die, I would not enjoy what time I had left.

I suppose one of the drawbacks of working in the funeral industry is that it makes you quite picky about how you want your own funeral!!

I have chosen the church, the music in and out, the hymns, the coffin, the flowers, charities for donations and the plot is bought in the cemetery!

But what I don't want to do is choose the date yet!

No, I don't want to know when I'm going to die, it might leave some unfinished business but I won't be here to worry any more!:)

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Nope, I don't want to know when. but I do know HOW it will happen: A beautiful, sexy 23 year old woman shoots me when she finds me in bed with her boyfriend. :yh_rptfl

Good god, what a strange question, who would want to know eh? I mean if its inevitable that you know, if you are terminally ill, or going to be shot at dawn, I mean what can you do, but I wouldn't actively seek out such knowledge, what good would it do.

Each option has its advantages and disadvantages. Would being able to know the exact date of your death spur you on to really live your life with all you've got? Or would it immobilize you because you'd be counting down to that day with fear? There's a certain amount of bliss in ignorance. If I was given the option to know I'm not sure which one I'd pick. I probably wouldn't want to know. The element of surprise is what makes life worth living. If I knew exactly what was going to happen every day I woke up, I'm not sure it would be as fun to be alive.

Eh, just my thoughts, anyway. :yh_battin

True. But why would not knowing the date of your death make it harder for you to say and do all that you wanted to do? You can do that now... regardless of when you're going to die.
