Fake PMs

Post by RedGlitter »

Good grief people.

I can't believe how my simple request has turned into A) a whole conversation and B) another witchhunt.

Let me try to make clear the misconceptions I keep seeing.

I did not receive anything in quotes.

The PM was made to look like it came from someone else. I knew better and I checked with that person and they did not send it. The content was made obviously to stir up more trouble, had I responded which I didn't. If it were a matter of changing my password, I would have already done that. Because I ignored it, it's really not that big of an issue. I'm certainly not the only one here who has received these things. My whole point in my post was if anyone gets a nasty PM that supposedly comes from me, check with me before you buy it. That's all.

It's all the more confusing when the discussion's about misquotation. I'll read them as a keyword highlighter in future.

I'm awestruck. How in God's name did you remember that? You scare me sometimes, Bill.

It just sticks - "Like Reg, 'ere. Reg!". I have looked for the lyrics on the 'Net,

but with no luck so far.

It's even relevant in some small way... Don't tell I, tell 'Ee, that's my philosophy, when folks do cuss and start a fuss don't tell I, tell 'Ee. A pearl of wisdom, that.
