Malagasies. Those I've met have all been wonderfully exuberant, practical and fun to get along with.

Anyone from the Tuamotu Archipelago is ok in my book. Specifically the Puka Puka's although the ones Ive met from Rimatara Rurutu come in a close 2nd. I will say the Fangataufoans can be a little on the ornery side but its all good.

we Americans are so young as a country compared to Europe, that many of us identify with our countries of not-so-distant origins. i FEEL American:yh_flag , but feel Italian also. and still love Britons!

Of course, this is an impossible question!

I've been to somewhere around 45 countries and have enjoyed at least a few people in each of them. If I absolutely HAD to make a choice....I'd say the people in Costa Rica were probably the friendliest....but that's a hard decision to make because, after all, there are those delightful Egyptians and the marvelous Kenyans and those charming Irish and the delicious Mexicans, etc, etc, etc.

This is an interesting question, Buttercup.

Which country's people are you most fond of?

I guess to become fond of someone you have to know them reasonably well. Count them as friends. So I don't take this question as a general sort of commentary about people in other countries like we get only too often in FG, usually responded to by people who have little knowledge of the people or country they are commenting on (often unpleasantly).

So first, you'd have to know these individuals well enough to be fond of them. Then you'd have to measure quantity of such people in a country, and maybe weight that with degree of fondness.

Like Lulu, I've got a few long term friends in a lot of different places. Still, because I've been in Australia more than anywhere else (though other places are catching up), the larger number of people I'm fond of are still here, in my own country.

I must agree that the people I'm most fond of are Brits because that's the people I know best but on my travels I've met Aussies, Americans, Phillipinos and others and have enjoyed the company of them all. They all have different characters and all are to be celebrated and enjoyed.

I think that it depends on the acquaintance you make.

If you meet one only person that you find unpleasant, may be you will associate it to the other people of that Country.

So far, I have no preference.

Every country's people has his own peculiarity, his own ability, his own manners, but this depends a lot of where you were grown up.

I might be the only one here to feel this way but I really have no preference.

I am no world traveller and haven't visited but one other country. I can only go by tourists and transplanted "foreigners." I have never considered the question, I don't think. I tend to stick to the individual rather than where they're from. While there are MANY countries I would like to see, I can't say I favor people of any certain one. :)
