when if receive an e-mail from someone in fg and click "reply" on the e-mail, type something, and send: does it appear on the thread it was started? does the reply get e-mailed back to the person who sent it on their e-mail? do both those things happen?

I'm not sure about sending an e-mail but I know that with a PM, if you type in your message, and click reply once someone has sent you something, then they will receive both their original message, and the message you just typed under it. I'm guessing it's the same with e-mail.
