How do you do your garlic potatoes?

this is copied from the quickie thread:

I do a quickie version of my garlic taters.

Microwave potatoes until they're done or almost done or whatever, then cut them in half and put 'em on a pan. Sprinkle with salt, herbs, fresh garlic and olive oil and pop them in the oven for about 30-45 minutes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my other way is to peel them then cut into small chunks and put them in a roasting pan with the above ingredients and roast for about an hour.

I'll probably do the quickie ones tonight, less prep work! :-6

Wow on Jacob's Creek. I've actually been there too, Diuretic. Stopped to take a pic of the sign on the bridge over the actual creek. Good drop of red. Cheers, Pompom!!

Christmas Eve really did used to be a fast day. Before the Feast day. Don't think too many people observe that now - as an actual fast I mean - , grin, but I do remember when we had fish then instead of red meat. Like the old Catholic Friday rule. I always thought it was a bit daft. Mince was out. Lobster was in. Hardly mortification of the flesh. Grin.

Might toss a steak on the barbie this evening...

Grin. We had a conference in Adelaide and had to go to the Barossa Valley, of course, Diuretic. I also spent some time in the Adelaide Hills. Went to a do at Hans Heysen's house (wonderful countryside), visited Jurlique cosmetics farm and I have an interest also in a bunch of monks that live up there, Society of the Sacred Mission.

I'll see if I can find the Jacob's Creek photo, after brekkie.

Tonight's dinner will be sushi for me: salmon, tuna and shrimp. I picked it up at a supermarket when I did my grocery shopping today. A couple of markets near me have excellent take-out sushi; others do not have quality sushi, so I stay away.

And of course . . .

a glass of two of champagne with a dash of orange, pineapple and cranberry juices in it :)

Does life get much better than that? :p

It's about 40 degrees and pretty raw outside. But I'm indoors with a nice warm heating pad on my lap -- and Buster on top of it. :)

I don't do well in cold weather. Give me a palm tree and I'm very happy :p

That's funny! I would think it's pretty hard to bathe a cat, since they usually hate water, right?

Duck eggs, what's wrong with hens eggs? Poor duckies, at least they're cute not ugly like hens, lol.

I did a chicken and pasta dry stir fry with herbs, pesto, courgettes, onions and red peppers.
