Oh I'd have it at least once a year!

If you were in charge of Christmas.....
I'd encourage people to decorate their houses in light and stuff.
If you were in charge of Christmas.....
I'd cancel it! :p :wah:
If you were in charge of Christmas.....
No Christmas songs on the radio before December 5th. And NO all Christmas format before Christmas eve.

If you were in charge of Christmas.....
No bell ringers
I'd put up more decorations in public- all kinds
I'd have it religious and secular or nonexistent, as everyone pleases. No pressure on anyone. If you want to celebrate, it's there and if you don't, no problem.
I'd have christmas music on one radio station and regular music on all the rest, instead of vice versa. :wah:
Office gift exchanges would be illegal. :wah: Nobody would feel forced into gifting to someone they don't even know or like.
Every poor child and adult gets a new outfit/coat/shoes and grocery supply paid for by government.

If you were in charge of Christmas.....
I would get rid of the Queen's Christmas speech, actually put some decent programmes on Christmas Day and not all the same rubbish films every darn year, force everyone to put up lots of decorations and lights, and no arguing or fighting would be permitted. Oh and it would have to be celebrated once every month! :p

OK then I am the odd one out. I am an avid Pepsi drinker, but I love Coke's comercials..especially the holiday ones.
Another interesting thing...I do not drink beer, but I like the Budwieser commercials with the Clydesdales.

Well you must get different Coke commercials than us Marie. This years one is really poor, and I turn off at the first sign of it.

(Irn Bru? Wonder why THAT never made it over here? :wah:) )
If I were in charge of Christmas, it'd be private, personal to Christians and not visible in the public arena. I don't expect Menorahs and Muslim music pumped into the publicly funded areas of my city and I don't expect Christmas trees, either. Christmas should be in churches and Christian homes....not schools, stores, radio stations or airports.
They don't give non-Christians a break--ever!

I used to feel just like this only probably worse and for several years I was a humbug. I got sick of "Jesus is the reason for the season" pushed at me as I do not subscribe to Jesus. I do subscribe to other beliefs though and tradition and I wasn't willing to throw these out. So I do Cmas *my* way. I celebrate what *I* want for the reasons that matter to me. It works much better for me this way.

If you were in charge of Christmas.....
Thanks Gup. In re-reading that I wonder if I sounded weird? I guess what I meant to say in regards to religion, I do understand that "Jesus is the reason" for many, many people. As it should be. But during this same season, we also have other things, Hannukah, Yule, etc. I think it would be nice if everybody who wanted to celebrate, did so- in whatever way they wanted for whatever reason they wanted. Even if they are non-religious and just want to have a big party.
I wish I had said this before instead of what I did say. I sounded cavalier.
