"The Little Girl"
by John Michael Montgomery
Her parents never took the young girl to church
Never spoke of His name
Never read her His word
Two non-believers walking lost in this world
Took their baby with them
What a sad little girl
Her daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs
Never wanted to play
Or give kisses and hugs
She'd watch the TV and sit there on the couch
While her mom fell asleep
And her daddy went out
And the drinking and the fighting
just got worse every night
Behind their couch she'd be hiding
Oh what a sad little life
And like it always does, the bad just got worse
With every slap and every curse
Until her daddy in a drunk rage one night
Used a gun on her mom and then took his life
And some people from the city took the girl far away
To a new mom and dad
And kisses and hugs everyday
Her first day of Sunday school the teacher walked in
And a small little girl
Stared a picture of Him
She said "I know that man up there on that cross
I don't know His name
But I know He got off
He was there in my old house
and held me close to His side.
As I hid there behind our couch
The night my parents died"
This one WRECKS me every time it comes on

Bullet's trial was a farce. Can I get an AMEN?????
We won't be punished for our sins, but BY them.

This one WRECKS me every time it comes on
When this song first came out, a little girl in the area was missing. Her mother and the boyfriend claimed she was at the mall and just disappeared. Her body was found at the garbage dump. :-1 The mother and boyfriend killed the child. She was severely underweight. At her mother's trial, the judge said how this song reminded him of her. To this day, the song makes me cry.
This one WRECKS me every time it comes on
Peg-that makes me think of the song "concrete angel" that song made me cry when i first heard it.........
This one WRECKS me every time it comes on
Faith Hill's " I Would Be Stronger" also does that. As for "Concrete Angel", I wonder if any other singer could put so much heart in it. Martina is one of the best!

I'd never hear this before, just found it and listened to it. It's hard to type with tears in your eyes.
