why pick on me?

i hate conflict , i hate fighting full stop argueing any form of it just leave me out of it , insult me do as you will i will if i can just walk away and aviod that person for ever full stop . i have an agresive cousine who if some one even looks at him the wrong way will snarl and growl at that person and if it happens again he will be over wanting to fight the guy , and there is me barge into me in the pub and i'll ignore ya call me a fat bald twat i'll just say and i've never heard that before have a nice day keep giving me evil looks i'll avoid eye contact ... so guess which one of us has had about 20 street fights in the last ten years ... me who hates trouble or my cuz who loves it ...thats right me ...every time i go out some one starts on me ..i said to the last guy why did you pick on me ? he said your a big guy who hates trouble i thought you were a coward so i hit you thinking i would look good in front of my mates and you would not hit me back ... i ask you what the hell goes on in some peoples heads honestly does any one else get this i would not mind so much if i was 25 but i'm nearly 50 for petes sake

what sort of people want to go grandad bashing any way :-3

Seriously though my brother used to find the same thing when he was younger, he's tall and well built and used to do karate (was a black belt) and everybody knew him (small town). One night his friend and him were followed by three lads who were trying to get a fight out of them. They ignored it for ages but eventually enough was enough - put it this way, people didn't try to get him to fight after that (they didn't hurt them much - just enough to warn them off)

It's really sad that drink makes people do this but unfortunately that's life these days.

Can I still pick on you though?:sneaky:

i dont get why any one would want to hit any one , i mean for nothing if someone hurt my child or hurt suzy yeah game on but to go out and think i want to beat some one up not get in a fight but to pick on someone that they think they can beat up i spoze its one up from i have had a bad day i'll kick the dog sort of thing (not me i dont have a dog , i have to be so carefull now nomad wise guy krambo and now duretic are waiting the slightest mistake they will jump all over me :wah: )my cuz says nip it in the bud if they look like they want trouble tell them your up for it they will back off but i dont want to go out with that mind set i want to have fun laugh and joke with lovely people not a holes , but england is full of little hoody gangster wanna be's that want to beat up people so they get street respect , i have done thai boxing and vale tudo i can take care of myself but i did it for a sport not to smash peoples faces in , my granded used to say if you want peace be prapered to fight for it , wise man my grandad seems he is right again

My brother stopped going to bars/pubs for the same reason. Being 6'4" he was seen as a good fight to pick because guys thought they'd look really good if they felled him.

It's one of the reasons I'm glad I'm not a guy. On the other hand, while they were busy fighting each other, I'd make off with the girl. :wah:

they broke down the lamp post and jumped on our neighbours cars last week

You know just as an observation, I did notice when I lived in England that the lads there like a bit of meaningless "aggro" when they are drunk for some reason, as do Australian men as well. There are certainly fights and things here as well, but in general you wouldn't start on a stranger in a pub here, cause you are quite likey to get the head absolutley beat off you if you do, we don't see it as a recreational "bit of a laugh", fights are serious and you can get killed if you are not careful. I have seen a few English and Australian boys come to grief that way in Dublin, kinda started a bit of aggro for a laugh and ending up in the Mater hospital for 3 days. Its the same with the football thing, we don't tend to have violence off the pitch at all, (except when Waterford and Tipp play in the hurling), the violence is contained on the pitch, and that seems to keep everyone satisfied. Just an interesting cultural observation.

i must admit sometimes my er special brand of humour can get me the odd smack in the mouth but i bet i'm not the only guy in the world that tells a joke and also recieves a punchline

i remember there was a fight in the pub once and some one threw an ashtray the guy said who the f.... threw that i piped up that it cant of been me i dont even smoke thinking he would laugh but he took offence and promptly smacked me in the mouth ... oh well if he did not get the joke i would of gladly explained it to him :wah:

Heh. I knew a Great Big Chap, whose name was also Jim - what a co-incidence!

He was picked on by some slight fellow, who was being a complete arse, and J.

straight-armed the said arse, by the collar, against the wall in my local hostelry.

The arse's head was jammed against the ceiling! Jim said "don't be silly, I'm fed

up with this sort of thing" (or words rather to that effect), the arse was taking

swings, but his arms were not long enough to connect! Anyway, when the Arse

left, the whole thing turned into a very convivial evening, from what I remember.

This all started at lunchtime, you see....

I had to read through the WHOLE thread before I commented!!

Jimbo, you remind me of my cousin, he's a BIG guy and has had the same problem...many a time...even my brother got drunk one time and wanted to see if he could take him...He of course told him...nahh man, we're just having fun here...

the funniest story was this little guy got drunk and wanted to fight Danny (6'4" about 320 lbs-my cousin) and he ended up kicking his own butt all over the room just trying to get ahold of my cousin...

I look at big men (most of them, have big men in my family) as BIG teddy bears!! I love them, they usually have the biggest hearts!!

And from what I've seen in Jimbo's posts...that holds true also!

Hey, me too, except it's more like the past 2 years.

I think that some people really do want to "impress" people with aggression, which is really stupid, considering the mental capacity of the dorks who ARE impressed with it. And frankly, when you hand them their ass, it could be a very good lesson and possibly make someone actually, LEARN something.

the trouble is br in real life if you stand up to bullies they dont back down they go get there buddy's , i posted this once before to you about 10 years ago a maniac on the run from deserting the french foreign legion tried for no reason stick a glass in my face for no reason , to cut a long story short he tried to bite my nose off we had a fight he went over and banged his head i got done for it yup me that was the one and only time i have been in trouble with the law but i could of got 5 years for that , thru no fault of my own

i'm more scared of going to prison so i leave trouble well and truly alone sue has gone mad at me before now for walking away but what do you do , look a coward or go to prison, in real life if i say something bad to some one i lay awake at night feeling bad , i hate conflict in any form but if some one who is an a hole thinks they can get away with it they will , i often think of bullet there but for the grace of god go i , how is he :-6 :-6

I would however like to jump into the tiger ninja pose drop to the ground spin around twirl my legs with blinding speed then pounce on your head with my claw hand thus causing you to shake your head and mutter something unintelligible as you walk away trying to pry me loose from your ankle.
