Friday Nights Knees-Up is Cancelled

It's possible that I may make it to the Hop tomorrow night, but unlikely, as the operation on my knee takes place tomorrow afternoon. It's my first op since 1966 so I'm a little nervous but I'm trying to be butch and manly about it.

I haven't slept well lately, so I'm hoping that while it's all going on I will at least be getting a decent bit of shut-eye. I can't drive for 2 weeks but the real downside is that I have to have 17 days off work just putting my feet up. It's going to be a hideous ordeal I know.

Oh Unc, poor you, loads of painkillers and hot water bottles for you. The good thing is that you can surf the net all day.

I was on the orthapedic ward with my back and a couple of people had key hole surgery on their knee's while i was there, don't worry your be fine. Just make sure you rest properly in the couple of weeks that follow, just think all that time to spend in FG. :sneaky:

Thanks girls. I'll try my best to fill my day in a constructive way. Failing that I might visit FG :wah: Need to be careful with those painkillers as you say, after all, for me Multi Vitamins are a mindblast so watch out :yh_giggle

My daughter has to stay with friends as coincidentally, my ex is also having an operation tomorrow. Fortunately, its only minor, she's having her tongue sharpened.

I hope your surgery is okay! Enjoy the time off, I had surgery and I have been out of work for nearly 2 months now, probably will not go back next month .

I'm feeling empty and thirsty now. Just measured out the 100ml of water which I'm allowed to drink befor midday. That's a third of a cup

Thanks Tater. Fortunately, it's minor surgery so 2 weeks should be enough although they did say it can be 4-6 weeks. Hope you're fully recovered soon.

Hi folks, this is Laura Kram's daughter. Dad's doing fine, he's a bit sore but he's doing ok. As you all know him so well now, I would expect you to know that he is totally milking it, getting me to make him tea and coffee on demand. I dunno, he'l be wanting a little bell next.
