Just wondering, it must be pretty bad if he is being so blunt about it. It seems that the people in the U.S. and a lot of politicans from both sides are really starting to get sick of this war, thing is, I'm still not sure if there is an easy or clean way to get out now. Anyway, opinions please, we would be intereted to hear what you have to say over this side of the pond. BTW, when Gordon Brown becomes prime minister, I'd say the Brits won't be in Iraq in any great numbers for much longer either, they are having a tough time in Afganistan and they need to put troops in there if they are going to gain control of the south again.

I reckon if TB hadn't given a date to stand down he would hav been forced out by now before he loses any more votes for labour. I wouldn't be so sure georgie boy gets to be prime minister either.

Yes indeed, I don't hate tony blair, but since Iraq, well what can you say? As for Gordon, nah, its a shoe in, I can't see Labour wanting to have a civil war again, then again maybe some do, they seemed up for it last year. Anyway, if Gordon is prime minister, that will keep Scotland in the Union for a little bit longer, thats a big thing to consider. Labour ain't doing so great over the border are they?

No they're not but whether that will translate in to votes for another party is rather a moot point. The alternatives are equally depressing. We have a form of PR so maybe a coalition govt might feature in the next scottish parliament. Even the tiries might feature. They tories now like PR as itis the only way they get any seats at all.
The seat next to GB's went to the liberals at a westminster by election last year-this in an area where it used to be a standing joke that they would elect a monkey in a red suit.

Yes, as we found over here in Ireland a long time ago, once you have your own parliment, thats when it actually gets complicated. Still, best to be upbeat about such things.

Bush has a 26% approval rating - not good- lowest ever..
Blair would probably still have his postion if he hadn't backed Bush and this war.
Bush's speech the other night to send thousands more off to war will not improve his ratings.
Theres a web site of a anti-war guy I found, he has several items for sale.
go to Carry a Big Sticker.com.
