House Speaker Nancy Pelosi banned smoking from the most venerable nicotine haven on the hill -- the Speaker's Lobby outside the entrance to the House floor.

I like that she thinks congress should "lead by example."

This bothers me though.

"Pelosi, of smoke-free California, is known to detest the tobacco habit."

Ive never liked it when people come to some power and start forcing their beliefs on everybody.

I think it's great EXCEPT.....

a government bigwig is saying "NO SMOKING!" all the while the government is subsidizing tobacco farmers. Fair is fair. Stop growing tobacco. Oh, I know the world will collapse and all that but it seems stupid to smack the cigarettes from smokers' hands at the same time you're writing checks with the other.

They've got it banned everywhere here now, even in your own car if you have children under 12 in there.
