embed problems

Post by koan »

I'm having a recurring problem with my browser crashing whenever I view a thread with a specific embed source. Dubs has found some different site other than youtube or the "cafe" one. I can't look to see what the alternate source was as I don't wish to crash my browser again.

This may be a problem with my program being corrupt. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. I'm using Firefox.

Send a site reference and I'll try from here - Firefox 2.0.1 with XP or 1.5 with Ubuntu

it took me awhile to open IE so I could find out

apparently the source site is "MusicJesus . com"

IE blocked the video when I clicked on the page. Called them "pop ups" whilst Firefox tries to open them. IE displayed the youtube videos without incidence.

On Ubuntu it loaded and then offered to get me some software from Micro$oft which I declined.

On XP it loaded and displayed the player but appeared to have no content to play.

I know I'm missing the Flash Player in Ubuntu but the XP should be a full instalation.

so it is a specialty player that needs its own software and what's probably happening is that it tries to automatically play when the page is loaded?

I've had absolutely no problem at all, with either site Bryn & Koan (I'm using XP and BT Yahoo) Both sites give an auto or manual embed code, I used manual each time. They do however, have a video of the day on their homepages, which auto starts when you access them.....Koan do you want me to delete the posts?

Just give me the nod, and I will.....:)

My dog's a cross between a Shihtzu and a Bulldog... It's a Bullsh!t..

I wasn't sure if it was just me. I love the videos you post. If you can replace them with another source, that would be great. :-6

Just updated to Firefox 2 on the Ubuntu side and it now crashes as soon as I load the page.

I'll investigate further

make a list of what they were, because they aren't all titled and I can't view them.

Once you know what they were let me know.

problem fixed.

I noticed that the code had tags that seems to be the cause.
