No one can get along with everyone Jess, sometimes we just have to tolerate people or just totally ignore them. I just don't understand the need to keep 'picking' away at people, it just makes awful viewing for everyone around. It makes me wonder what these people are like in RL, do they go around keep goading and being nasty to people they don't like??? After all we are talking about 'Adults' here!

It's just a shame that some people seem to pick 'sides' and just add to the hostility.

Nothing Acc, just summarising. In my opinion it's just nicer all round that people who don't 'take' to each other, should just avoid and stop any goading. I hope that if i'm ever in that situation i would try to act my age and not my shoe size :-6

Do we really need yet another one of these threads???? I've only been briefly in the Garden this morning and all seemed sweetness and light. Am I missing yet another bout of something? Or is this just a generic bit of pot stirring?

Anyway, I'm about to go out in the real garden and hang clothes on the line. Play nicely, everyone. :-6

Guppy, I'm sending you a huge bunch of sunshine. It's going to be close to a hundred degrees again today here... We're melting. Just going to put water out for the birds. By mid afternoon, they just sit there, beaks open, kind of panting.. :-6

Thanks Pam, over here a new programme has started regarding people emigrating to Australia, I was nearly convinced until i saw the snakes and the red back spider!!!! Do you actually see a lot of snakes over there?

We've been warned there are a lot of Eastern Browns about at the moment. Looking for garden water, in the drought. I walk in the bush most days, and have not encountered a snake in years. Still, it's good to be careful.

In my own attempt to actually answer the question, I have to tell ya Jesse, from a lot that I've seen, both in here and in the real world, people EVERYWHERE thrive and bask in misery, arguing, unhappiness, conflict, ignorance, hatred, and the like. People have become so attuned to an unending flood of negative behavior that it's become the "norm" as opposed to the exception. Manners have left the building, common courtesy is on vacation, politeness, decency, simple human intelligence is a thing of the past.

There is hope though. If I can see enough good to come back here, to FG, there is hope. If there's hope on a web forum, there is hope for the real world, too.

I can agree with your general assessment of the way things seem to be going in the world.

The positive or the negative things in life begin at an early age in the home. People complain about the educational system but fail to realize that they get the educational system they want. I just watched a programme called "Too Dangerous to Teach". Yes society gets the kind of people it wants to create.

There is hope, but it begins at home. This is a general statement and not aimed at anyone.

You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard "My son (daughter) would never do that." Nor would you believe how many times I've heard a parent yelling and swearing at a teacher because his/her child did something stupid.

I once had a grade 8 boy throw my J. Kindergarten teacher against a cement wall. He nor his parent seemed to concerned. He was only concerned about whether he would pass into grade 9. One thing is for sure he didn't from my school as I put him out permanently so the board had to place him in a special class elsewhere.

I used to tell my kids teachers that they were normal kids and bound to do things at times. Deal with them and if you think I need to, let me know. If you were in trouble at school you were in trouble at home.

That is the reality of teaching today.

How right you are. Been their and experienced that except the mother was inside the school and cursing and swearing quite loudly.

No wonder the kid had a problem. I had a similar problem with a child and the parent complained to me about other kids picking on him. However he was the worst bully I'd ever encountered and the father was no different.

Jesse, I'm taking it from a differrent angle, and I'm saying part of the reason we don't all get along is because in some crowds of people, the natural pack mentality we all have to some degree kicks in overdrive and these people can't seem to stop themselves because to them it feels good to pick on, harass, humiliate or join in tearing down another person.
