There was a little bit of snow...

Post by Chookie »

There was a little bit of snow on the Scottish roads this morning. Not much around where I live, just a couple of inches or so, but this was on top of just enough rain to make driving interesting.

This morning, on my way to work (this is a necessary thing I do in order to support my vices – like eating more than twice a week), when to my great delight, I espied a slight contretemps between two cars at which in the technical language. “the police were in attendance - this was probably because one of the cars involved was a police (patrol) car.

Anyway, as myself and the other eejits who were on our way to our various employments, were being held up by this accident, some utter bloody fool in a Kelvinside tractor (for those of you unfortunate enough to exist furth of Scotland, this is a derogatory term for a large 4x4 which never leaves the road and is used primarily for taking kids to school) came speeding round a corner, spotted the incident, swung over to the wrong side of the road, scared the living **** out of the oncoming traffic and speeding off on his merry way.

Shortly thereafter, I get past the scene of the crime (polis car banged up the jacksie), and toddle of to fight the good fight against the student body, about a mile or so further on I came upon that same Kelvinside tractor, hauled into the side of the road, where the driver is being escorted into the backseat of a traffic car.

Now, myself is not normally a fan of the traffic polis, but in this case – RESULT!!

What makes me nuts are people who drive much slower than permitted and won't go into the slow lane to let you pass because they might have to make a turn 10 miles up the road. :-5

I can't understand how people can without any hesitation drive 5o in the hundred zone holding up about 40 cars and not have any inkling. :driving:

YES!

I have to agree, they are like ruddy tractors,

I hate when i come out of the supermarket and one's parked at the side of me, trying to reverse out of a bay is a nightmare. :driving:
