http://www.bbc.co.uk/learning/ is a useful learning resource too. It's got plenty for students as well as sections specifically for teachers and parents, and it goes through the UK curriculum from pre-school to 18.
I'll be interested to see what other people have used, especially collaborative tertiary education sites. I've done a few courses at the Virtual University, http://vu.org/ and though they don't have much academic subject coverage so far it's an interesting model. It brings in anyone who wants to teach as well as people wanting to learn, and there's far more tutorial interaction than anything else I've found so far. As a structure it's building quite well, and they have very few costs to cover.

Sounds a bit like Empire State College here. You do all your work independantly and meet with an advisor two or three times a month. A former co worker took classes there. She said it was easier to work this around her work schedule.
