I loved "Dirty Dancing" especially when it first came out. I havn't seen it in a long time. Patrick Swayze was at his hottest then (or maybe it was during Roadhouse).

Anyway, good flick.
I probably posted that in an ambien trance-soryy

I hate to be mean but this movie was one of the most stupid movies I've ever seen! So cheesy and predictable! And the female lead, Jennifer Beals? WAY unattractive for a role like that. Sorry, thumbs Down! :(

It's the ultimate chick flick! Whenever Mrs. Ives is mad at me, I pull this out and spin it up on the DVD player. It's like a "get out of the doghouse free" card!! :wah:

I guess you can't dance? Men who can dance are pure sexuality and would appreciate the glory of this fim.

OK. You're right. It's a chick flick. I love it. 'Cause I'm a chick.

Actually, it was Jennifer Grey. The Video Movie Guide has this to say:

****(four stars out of five) A surprise hit. Jennifer Grey stars as a teenager poised at the verge of adulthood in the early Sixties. She accompanies her family on a Catskills vacation and meets up with rhythm and blues in the form of dancers Patrick Swayze and Cynthia Rhodes. Nothing new but the players present the material with exuberant energy.

As far as Jen Grey goes, I think actresses that are not perfect are far more appealing to the average crowd (less intimidating and more real) and as far as Jen Beals goes, I worked with her and I agree. Trash.

It's an all time classic. :)

How can they think DD2 would even compare?

I don't think there's one person who's seen that film that didn't try that bit at the end (when she's lifted over her head) with one of your mates (please don't let me be the only one!) :o

Although I obviously dance like a cross between, Astaire, Travolta and Nureyev this movie stinks the place up, I have to agree it is the ultimate chick flick and as such should be burnt publicly along with Love Story, The Bodyguard, Beaches, Steel Magnolia's etc.

I wore this thing out as a kid...I wanted to be the one dancing with Patrick soooo bad! This one...Top Gun (Tom was smokin' in that flick) and Goonies were my most watched flicks as a kiddo.

I love to watch them now...not because they are amazing flicks...but because they take me to a special time when I was young and had nothing to do but watch movies over and over and over again and imagine myself kissing the leading man.

I really, really, want to be able to dance, but I have a problem...no right foot. I have two left ones instead. After seeing the movie, "Shall we Dance?" though, I'm really considering taking lessons.

I hate this film. I truly hate it. The ex-girllfriend loved it and I have seen the film well over 300 times. Nearly every time I got in from work that damn movie would be playing.

One of my life goals is to never ever watch that film again.

One of my alltime favourites

There is nothing sexier than a man who can dance

Phoooaarr - Patrick Swayze was one hot man!

:) I quite like Dirty Dancing but love Roadhouse even more.

The most erotic scene in that film is the one where Patrick Swayze and the doctor, played by Kelly Lynch, get it on slowly to one sexy record "these arms of mine" by Otis Reading. Now that is what I call hot. I like things like that. My most favourite erotic moment in a film has to be the one in the original Thomas Crown Affair between Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. They play a game of chess and there is such sexual tension between the two that it lights up the screen. No clothes come off, no naked bodies to be seen, just pure eroticism. Now that is why Mr McQueen is called the "king of cool!"

I thank you! :)
