new post junkies
Are you a 'new posts' junkie like me? that is to say, it's really rare for me to ever go poking down through the forum hierarchies looking for stuff. i just click the 'new posts' button, over and over, looking for...uh,...well, uh, new posts.
ahem.
i think i have a third item for the poll. yep.

And I thought I was the only one who did that...over and over and over...
When it's slow, it can be frustrating, waiting for the next person to come along and reply. Maybe I'm just too impatient...

i definately do the new post thing all the time, but also seek out certain threads which have been of interest, even if they have been relegated to other pages.

I only go to old threads when there is no activity on the recent posts. Or I make a new one up. I usually look for recent posts on the home page though, instead of the recent post button. Then I get to see how many people are online and look at the pretty pictures.

If life is getting you down remember the alternative.

Nope. I just peek in and respond to any thread that grabs my attention. It doesn't matter if it is new or old. The thread just has to catch my attention. :-6

Absolutely. If there are no new posts, I start "jonesing" and get all twitchy! lol!
There are three things that really make the Garden stand out from other forums I've been to. The first is the "New Posts" button. It's a wonderful fast way to get the day's pulse about what's going on in the Garden! I've never seen another forum with it, so I used to have to surf all the forums to find the new threads or the current debates.
The second is the ability to "hover" over the thread and read the first post in it. It's a very valuable tool for decideing if you want to contribute to that thread.
Then there's the instant e-mail tracking for the threads you are in. State-of-the-art! I love being notified if a thread I'm following is getting heated up! I saw one poster didn't like it. She said it was clogging her e-mail, and it does have a tendency to do that, but all you have to do is unsubscribe when the thread gets old. Truly a cool feature!
did I say three things? I almost forgot all the interesting personalities here!

I have overcome the urges to post by taking the 12 step poster pseudonymous. This program has enriched my life by allowing me to use my time more equitably online.
The rage and fire to post has diminished and I am no longer... uh oh... something just came into my mailbox... will be back soon. :-5

I dunno? I hope that they aren't going to start renting access to them.
