So what has Price Charles done to upset you Sweet Tooth?

Not wanting to start an arguement, just interested in your viewpoint.

Regarding our interest in US politcs - well, why shouldn't we be interested? After all you are the biggest democracy in the world, should we only focus on home issues/

Yes most of our politicians seem to be crap or dishonest these days but tell me a country that doesn't have that in some degree.

Tony Blair is in my opinion a lying, self-serving, hen-pecked arse but that's just my opinion.:sneaky:

It really was a serious question. I think she is genuinely interested, why not try answering with something other than jibberish?

Well thank goodness for men who see past looks to the person underneath or there would be a look of single women and disappointed men married to gorgeous but boring women.

"Gibberish".

Which question? The one about politics, or the troll? Perhaps "she" is "you"?

Anyway, if you extract your head, and look around the whole world for

information, you might usefully find out for yourself.

Fair questions! You saw my answer on Di- too gorgeous! And Blair, ya, crook, I just honestly don't know why everyone is always bashing the US! And the Brits seem to be the worst! Yes, its important to know what is going on, considering we are the largest democracy! But we have a bumper sticker here in the states that says, " IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE, DON'T COMPLAIN!" And your Brits complain ALL THE TIME!!!!

But surely by now you will have realised that complaining is what we do best as a nation, and queuing too - we're good at that.

We are also great at being humble, being sarcastic and understanding irony. We like to take the p1ss out of ourselves and each other. We're pretty good and helping out in a crisis - as a country and individuals and we're excellent at friendship - we even tolerate the French. We express our opinions without the fear of being called unpatriotic or worse the fear of being silenced.

Personally, I think Britain is great in every sense, I am proud to be British with all it entails.

I hope you will remember that I supported you when you were unhappy with the treatment of the troops and understand me when I say that I am not being personal to any individual when I say the following.

The reason that America gets a bashing is because you (as a country) make yourself a pretty big target. You hold yourselves up as an example to all on how to run a country and that a democratic system is the only system to be had, sometimes giving the impression that you do not understand that other cultures do not see things your way.

Like all countries and cultures you have things that are not to be admired, that should not be held up as an ideal. Unfortunately you also incur some jealousy - you (again as a whole - not individuals) have a lifestyle some people can only dream of, your films portray big houses, big cars, big tv's, full refridgerators, full shelves in your supermarkets, good education, readily available health care, healthy children, drinking water on tap - do you see where I'm going with this?

As an individual I have found Americans to be no better or no worse than people I have met in other countries. We all have our cultural differences and they are great to explore. I enjoy the company of most of the people here and love to see the differences even when I don't agree with them.

I'll take that as a "yes".

My answer to the OP, btw, is about "foreign policy". Every country has one and everyone has a right to an opinion on how their country deals with other countries. This sometimes extends to explaining what about another country affects your opinion on the matter.
