The Devil Wears Prada
Ok who has seen this movie.....
I am a huge fan of Meryl Streep and she was a hoot in this movie ....
But... more than that....
Her tactics for being "the boss" were awesome.....
Speaking in a very muted voice .... forces everybody to listen to you....
and my most favorite tactic.... her control of anyone who came in to talk to her..... she would look uninterested, and when she had heard enough she would very casually and softly say "that's all" and boy you were dismissed and you knew it. BRILLIANT :wah:
I can't wait to try that on someone here at work hahahahahahaha (I just have to find the ***** to do so)

I want to see this.
One review said she underplayed the role but I've never seen Meryl Streep make that kind of error before. So now I really want to see it.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and Streep was wonderful. The movie was very enjoyable. I give it a solid "B". :-6

The books better. But the movie was funny.

Thanks Koan I got the actresses mixed up....
Underplayed huh, I thought it was good, certainly not an epic flick but cute.

I expect she played the part just right. She's always good, imo.
I didn't realise it was supposed to be funny though until I read the review. That makes it even more interesting. It is based on a real woman who edits a magazine, yes? I thought it was supposed to be a social commentary type film to start with.

Loved the book. LOVED the movie... slightly different interpretation of a dragon lady, by Meryl Streep, more sympathetic, but more believable too.

I saw it twice (on two very LOOOONG flights) and I was disappointed. She's usually more original in her roles. I thought this film was amusing, but it's a cliche. You could see it "coming," if you know what I mean.

Hi Koan :-6
I believe it is loosely based on Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue. The book was written by Lauren Weisberger, who was Ms. Wintour's assistant at Vogue for one year, and loosely based the book her experiences at the magazine, which is the 'fashion bible' to many people.
