Nomad, HELP!

Post by Chookie »

Last Saturday i forced myself to spend some of my hard-earned sponduliks on an unnecessary "luxury item". I bought myself a new MP3 player (there's nothing wrong with the old one apart from a lack of capacity). I took this new thingy, treated it with the utmost consideration, supplied it with a brand new alkaline battery, fed it good meal of MP3 and WMA files and gave a nice warm [pocket to live in.

On Tuesday, it died of a catastrophic system failure (actually it fell apart in my pocket). I went back to place I bought it and got a replacement. I gave it the same treatment as I did it's predecessor - it's own virgin battery, a nice mixture of files and a warm place to live.

Today, I was out for a little walk on one of our local hills, with the new thingy in my pocket. I suddenly felt a burning sensation in the pocket containing the thingy. There was also funny smell - no, NOT my feets - I may have fed it the wrong type of battery.

On the other hand, this could be a devious plot to force me to buy an IPod.

What should I do?

What brand is it? I had something similar happen to a Sansa m230 Mp3 player.
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

-Our household received an IPOD for Christmas but only one of us gets to use it(not me) and on the rare miraculous occassion that I do get to actually hold it in the palm of my hand and listen, I love that thing.
