My dear Grandad taught me (and all the other grandchildren) this little rhyme

Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a pole,

Undid his trousers and did a sausage roll

He used to laugh every time, it's a sort of tradition now to pass this on :wah:

What naughtiness did your grandparents get up to with you?

:wah: like it...cant remember my nana telling me jokes etc, but when i stayed there every weekend she used to let me stay up late and watch all the horror films, ill never forget it.

In the summer time, on the porch, when we were little and still fascinated by lighting bugs, my granpa used to tell us stories of the 'hootinannies' (little monsters) that lived in the grass and would catch us if we got off the porch. LOL!

lol aw, i love hearing all these tales...makes me think is it just our grandparents who made these things up or do any of you say similar stuff to your kids?

aw same her for my little girl, her grandad died before she came along and im gutted she never got to meet him she would of loved his sense of humour!

I am positive it's just a grandparent thing. *sigh* I miss 'em. I really do. I got to keep mine well into my 30's.

That is a real shame. My maternal grandfather died when I was five and I have no real memory of him just impressions. My other grandad died just before I turned 13, I lots of lovely memories of him but not enough (I was doted on so much by him - only granddaughter the others all boys).

My grandmothers are still alive aged 80 and 90 (on Sunday), much loved and cherished.

I am a step-nanny and it's one of the best things that has happened to me, such fun.

I lived with them for the first five years of my life. Dad was in the army. And i remember my granpa would bring me something home in his lunchbox every day. He was my best friend. My granma taught me how to play yahtzee. LOL! And euchre!

sounds lovely! i wish id had that, never knew my grandad same as my daughter wont unfortunately, maybe thats why im fascinated with other peoples tales of their grandads...btw whats euchre?

It's a card game something like bridge. And I swear she was card sharp! LOL!

oh right! oh aye grandparents are ALWAYS good at card games! mind you i remember when i was small my mam and dad having friends round every wknd playing cards....gamblers the lot of them!

i reckon its cos they were far more laid back then than we are these days...and its a well known fact that grannies and granpas spoil their grandkids rotten and let them get away with murder, my littlelegs already has her nana wrapped round her chubby little finger!
