I must admit I don't eat a huge amount of chips, but they are lovely when they are done right, to hell with the fat. Specially with Cod in Batter, oh yummy. :-6

Perhaps a Chip poem should be written in honour of this great event???

Maybe you're all being too literal?

Maybe it means we lovely ladies should be given pieces of jewellery with diamond chips in? :sneaky:

Yeah, wishful thinking I know!

Of all the food excuses we use, being pregnant must be the most useful, of course I can't really use it myself, or could I??

Are you still eating them? I've got cravings for them, nothing else really just them, poached eggs and we aren't meant to have runny yolks.

Ok, while we're on the subject

A question for all the British folk(Or anyone whom eat "Fish and chips" and have coincidentally enough have tried fish and chips in the states)

Is there any place in the U.S that you can compare with the average restaurant that serves fish and chips in the U.K?

Like Captain D's or Long John Silvers? Obviously this may be completely incomparable, but you don't know until you ask...seeing as how I don't see myself taking a trip to the U.K anytime soon.

I sort of thought of that, no one having tried fish and chips from that of restaurants whom happen to serve a sort of fish and fries platter here, but none the less at least some may know from hearsay.

If I remember correctly I had read that fish and chips were so popular in England(Or the U.K) that the fishing industries were not having much success as the fish seemed to be on shortage...

The best fish and chip shop in Ireland used to be Leo Burdocks, bear Christchurh in Dublin City centre, just top class, old school fish and chips. Don't know if they are still any good, there used to be only the one shop run by the great man himself, but then they opened about 2 or 3 around the city, so I am not sure if the quality remained the same, the old shop was the business though, comparable to any of the best. :-6

Sorry Red, but I blame the others, they started this, I am only following the crowd, I am also having chip-related craving issues, but I am working through them, I will be fine, and so will you. :-6
