Burlesque dancing

Has anyone actually seen this done, is it like pole dancing / strippers

Burlesque is the old style stripping. It's done so that just taking off a glove will turn a person on. Time is spent on teasing the audience rather than just taking it off and getting dirty. Burlesque has (or had as it's faded away) far more class than erotic dancing. It's more of a show.

Look up Blaze Starr or Tempest Storm.

Burlesque dancing is way different then stripping! Burlesque dancers actually have to know how to dance in other words, they have to have some sort of dance training. There is a club in Vegas and LA that has burlesque dancing I believe its called 40 Deuce. It's pretty awesome!

Bette Midler has an incredible live show that can be found on DVD that mixes her normal comedy and singing into a burlesque format show. Can't remember what it's called at the moment.

And there is the new film, Mrs. Henderson, with Dame Judy Dench, that is fabulous.

eta: fairly new film.

There was a program on channel 4 ( i think) a couple of weeks ago about this subject.
