Do you ever get stiff in bed?
I can barely stand to lay in bed more that 7 hours before my body starts waking me up.
My hips HURT........
My back HURTS......
It hurts to turn over on a side from my back................I feel I'm 80 years old.
If I can only get up and move after 7 hours...........body is OK. COFFEE ---GOOD!!
Any comments?

I almost put a corresponding problem thread for the guys asking "do you ever not" but I'd be given a hard time for that if I did. God, I'm beginning to sound like Jimbo.

You need a new mattress, of the "pocket sprung" type. Maybe a new bed, too.
Do you ever get stiff in bed?
Oh no, read the title and thought, oops this is for men but couldn't resist reading it anyway.
I get stiff, my bed is pants, got a good mattress though.

The title sure is an eye catcher!!:wah:
Honestly, I understand completely, I almost started a thread a while back. I've been waking up in pain for the last year. And I KNOW it was my bed, well I'm sure the stress I deal with on a daily basis doesn't help.
But a good nights rest is SO important. I just bought a new bed, and OH it makes the world of difference!! I still am sore, think it will take time...but I feel alot better than before. (I just got it this past Sunday)

Same thing happens to me..I usually wake up feeling worse than before I went to bed. I am trying to convince Rick to get a new mattress. Right now, all that helps me is to take Advil before going to bed.

I am laughing, laughing, laughing. Thank You. Yes..... stiff in bed. How does that happen? Yesterday morning, I was in so much pain... I thought I was dying. Neck, shoulders, back, legs. I immediately swallow 2 advils. This morning... I am fine. I personally think it is tension. You take it to bed with you and it does a number on you during the night.

I can't take any pain relief at the moment, putting a pillow between your knees, that seems to help. Sitting at the PC for hours at a time certainly doesn't. I should take my own advice and switch off. :wah:

The bed is not the problem, it's an indicator, or exacerbator of a symptom.
The problem is whatever is producing the inflammatory response that is manifesting itself in your joints. In short, the problem is inside you, not outside you. If this is systemic, in that it's hitting all your joints instead of just one, it's an indicator of certain things that need to be explored and understood. Ignoring it will not make it go away.
If you can view your internal environment as you would an external one, you may be able to visualize what's going on. As above, so below.
We put foreign objects, or invading forces, into our bodies every day, in the form of foods that our digestive enzymes don't fully understand, because they haven't seen enough of them for long enough. We've been eating our current diet for a relatively short period of time, not nearly long enough to have adapted to it.
Our bodies then signal our defender "armies" to engage what it perceives as the enemy, throwing out an inflammatory wave of mucous to smother it. These invading forces are all too often a sugar of some sort that has been preserved with its own armor coating, gluten. When you smother a sugar with mucous, it starts to ferment. Enough of this builds up in our intestines and an explosion of sorts occurs, sending inflammatory agents throughout the land, locking up every joint it perceives as weakened, which applies to most of our joints by mid-life. Normal wear and tear.
It starts slowly, as minor stiffness in the morning, and progresses to where we mention it to friends at work, or, around the modern day water cooler, the internet posting board. If, and when, it gets bad enough we go to a western trained doctor, who does what western trained doctors do, prescribe a powerful anti-inflammatory drug. Don't blame the scorpion.
These drugs often have side effects worse than the problem they're treating.
What to do???
Find out which foods are doing this to you. There are some rules that apply, as they say, to all God's children. Then there are those metabolic anomolies that are yours alone. A good practitioner who understands this can guide you to a solution that will work.
There are many questions that need to be asked.
This much I know, a new bed will not solve this. It might provide some temporary relief of your symptom, but, unless you address the underlying cause, it will get worse. The longer you wait, the more challenging it becomes. Today, it's probably no more complicated than a few changes to foods and a couple of simple exercises.
If you want to drive your car 100,000+ miles change your oil. If you want to drive you 100+ years, change your oil.

I was told by several doctors that pregnancy had initially caused this............I have heard of gluten causing the problem also. I never hurt when I had my water bed. Nutrition is definately something to investigate.

Wow. That's fantastic. Anyway, so basically don't stand behind someone who's
been eating Smarties, lest you be smothered in "inflammatory agents" and have
your joints paralysed.

Alobar is correct. Afew months ago, because of pain in my hands and feet, I went on a mission to identify foods that cause inflamation. White potatoes, red meat, night shade vegetables, sugar and alcohol were high on the list.
I started also taking a vitamin composed of elements needed for my age range. Bs Magnesium and selenium are included. Afew weeks ago I added salmon oil. Which, I just discovered last night may have caused me to develop a serious itch in patches on my body. I was discussing the itch with a friend who is a physician who enbraces the eastern outlook on healing practices. I have been taking 10x the amount needed by the body ( as was reccommeded on the product label. Treating yourself can be trickey.
